“Waste of time”
Reviewed July 16, 2013

I have been to other science museums, and the Tekniska in Stockholm cannot be included in such a category. In my opinion, it is oriented mainly to really little kids. My kids are 9 and 14 and they got stiff bored. It was kind of surrealistic, the explanations to some experiments were virtually non existent, and many of the ones which did exist were only in Swedish. The train model was really poor, and "the mine" was pathetic. The telephone exhibition is repetitive due to the huge amount of telephones on display, all so similar. All in all, it's better to spend your time at the maritime museum close by, the entrance to which is FREE, or the television tower which is about 500 m. and you can get a magnificent view of the city.

“For humans of all ages”
Reviewed April 16, 2013

The museum is quite large and have exhibits and events that fit all ages. I spent more than three hours and I feel that I could have invested more time.
On the minus side is the restaurant and cafe which were very sub standard.

“Technical museum”
Reviewed January 10, 2013

This is a great place for everyone interested in technology. There is a central hall filled with great steam engines, planes, cars etc. Some actually work. Underneath there is a mine (well sort of) which I remember as very exiting if you're say 7 years old. It's OK for grown-ups too. Good restaurant.

“Lots to do!”
Reviewed November 11, 2012

Great 4D theatre, and lots of stuff to do. One can spend a whole day here. Minus for not enough parking spots and expensive, non friendly restaurant with a poor selection of food...

“A fun place for both kids and adults”
Reviewed October 26, 2012

I spent a rainy day at the technical museum with my kids (first graders) and both they and I thought it was fun. A lot of old and new technical things to look at and it is fun to show them the old telephones, ball bearing, pacemaker and much more looks like. There is also a lot of hands-on stuff to do, the sport section, innovation section and a section where you learn how thing work such as Mindball. The kids also liked the mine, looking at different machineries and what it looks like down in a mine.

If you spend the whole day (which is easily done) there is a restaurant for lunch or just a coffee break. Both hot food and sandwiches are served and the prices are ok.
