We bought tickets for St. Jacobs for 15 December when the Choir S:t Jacobs Kammarkor were performing "Julen Sjungs in" - Christmas music and carols, and not really knowing what we were going to hear. Walking in from a very wet night, the church was beautifully lit and very impressive, and well worth a visit anytime just for itself. But the choir's performance brought the church to life-the sound was utterly breathtaking as they performed in Swedish, English and occasionally German. The highlight had to be the choir standing around the outside of the nave singing "Stilla Natt" (Silent Night) as a round in three languages. It really reminded us of the real meaning of Christmas.
The choir performs regularly at S:t Jacobs, make it a must for any visit to Stockholm.
