This was a five-star experience in a very nice hotel. The location was excellent, the rooms for spacious (with a sitting area), and it was quiet. The service at the front desk was very helpful, whether recommending an excursion, reserving a taxi, or printing out boarding passes.

The breakfast in particular was excellent. The weekend hours for the buffet even go until 12:00 on Sunday: a real novelty! There was food for every taste while covering the local fare as well. Scrambled, hard-boiled, and soft-boiled eggs with sausages, bacon, and meatballs. All sorts of breads and pastries. Various types of herring, cheeses, pate. Meats (turkey, pastrami, hams). Cream cheese, lovely jellies/jams. Fruits, yogurts, etc. The best breakfast I've had anywhere in Europe!

I got a great price through otel.com (about $200/night), and if you can get a decent rate I highly, highly recommend this hotel! It is not the Ritz or in that class (which is the only reason I don't give it five stars), but it is really the perfect place to stay while you explore this gorgeous city.

Central location, close to shops & restaurants. Room was clean, smart & small - compact but did not feel cramped due to good design & high ceiling. Free wifi, weights (dumbbells) & work-out DVD in room were a nice touch....The hotel has no restaurant, but does provide breakfast and a limited room service. No food was available when I arrived (early afternoon & hungry), but this is not really a big deal as there are cafes and restaurants very close by. Breakfast buffet was good and staff generally very helpful.

The Riddargatan Hotel was overall a great accommodation. The rooms were modern, trendy and spacious. The breakfast was included in the price of the hotel and the selection vast. The location is fantastic as well - within walking distance of most interesting things to see and do - and in the heart of an area with great restaurants!

Strange hotel.:

Good:
- Location: It's located in the poshy part of Stockholm. Nice restaurants, and pubs/nightclubs.
- Price (if you can get a good deal. I paid 750 SEK..)
- Breakfast: Quite extensive

Bad:
- NO AIRCO!!!! I stayed here several times. During the summer, when it is 25c outside, the inside temperature is even higher!! No fan, no airco, and could not open the window (since I was located on the ground floor and during the night the drunk visitors of the clubs walked & screamed by..) IT was so extremely hot that I had to take 3 cold showers..
- No bar: Well, no official or nice bar.. but go out to Storaplan instead...
- Reception: Not always someone there.. and not everyone speaks english!!
- Size of the rooms: My room was so incredible small.. Guess this is a swedish thing..

Overall, this can be a good hotel if you can get a cheap deal. However, I heard that the normal price is >1200SEK.. Far too expensive. Many alternatives in the area for this price!

This hotel is located in a side road in the Central district close to the shops and metro. Very good rooms and large bathroom. Friendly staff and well stocked buffet breakfast. Free wireless Internet. I would return there.
