After booking a room at the sister hotel Rex we were moved to the Hellsten and upgraded.

The room was very large but in the basement (only a tiny window at the top of the room). (The hotel also has rooms on higher levels.) The design was very modern and stylish and the room was very clean. We had a huge comfy bed and a large TV. The bathroom contained a finnish sauna and looked new, but actually started to fall apart in several places (the toilet seat was loose, the fan wasn't working and the shower couldn't be adjusted to a fixed positon). The shower had no cabin or curtain so it showered the whole bathroom.

The location is located in a very quiet street north of the city center in walking distance (20 minutes) of the main attractions, but there are shops and restaurants nearby.

The breakfast room was too small, it was extremely crowded and we were lucky to find a table because other guests were just leaving. The breakfast itself was very good with selections of different breads, meats, cheeses, waffles, eggs, cereal and various choices of tea.

Two computers were available for guest use, and the room had wireless lan.

* Nice but small rooms. Our room was really red. Maybe too much?!
* Good shower. No shower curtains so the water went everywhere.
* The hotel had a nice bar attached with live music. Cool :)
* Breakfast was ok. Not amazing.
* The location of the hotel is ok - near a lot of nice cafes and restaurants. Try the Italian around the corner. Nice food and very friendly staff.
* Just 10 min walk to the main shopping areas.
* Clean rooms.

We had a great weekend in Stockholm... not only because this is just an awesome city but also because of the beautiful hotel... Lovely room, very friendly people, a delicious breakfast... what more can a person want on a holiday!!
Another great advice is to rent a bike!! A great way to discover Stockholm!!!

I was extremely pleased with the hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I arrived in Stockholm early in the morning from an overnight flight from the states and they did everything possible to get me into a room earlier that the usual check-in so I could get some rest. My room was very comfortable (albeit small by American standards) and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was vast and fresh.
I highly recommend this hotel.
