I had a single room which was clean and had a nice shower but it was the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. It was quiet and faced the back of the hotel. The breakfast buffet was tasty with lots of options (waffles, hard boiled eggs, yogurts, lots of breads with cheese, jams, meats as well as cereals). The breakfast room was light and airy and had charming exposed brick walls. There was a lovely sitting room and a small gym and sauna but I didn't use them. The hotel is just 2 short blocks from the T-bana station and super convenient. I'd recommend it.

Dear StockholmTourist67

Thank you for your kind words. We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed the hotel and our service. The room you stayed in was of the type Small Single which is the smallest rooms we offer but still with the same standard and facilities as all other rooms. We are also happy to hear that you appreciated the selection on our breakfast buffet and the atmosphere in our restaurant and the lobby.

We hope that we will soon have the possibility to welcome you once again to Hotel Hellsten or any other of the Hellsten Hotels.

Kind regards,
Per Hellsten

The Hellsten is an old hotel in central Stockholm. We found a clean room with a fairly small but modern bathroom. The “tunnelbahn” subway is just a short walk away. A trip to “Gamla Stan” old town takes about 10 minutes. You will find traditional Swedish, American, European and Asian restaurants as well as some supermarkets and bars in walking distance. The Hellsten provides free breakfast which was okay measured by European or Swedish standards. I missed fruits, scrambled eggs, bacon and Nutella. The breakfast room was quite small and crowed. The staff was nice. They offer a free luggage room in case your flight is in the evening. Furthermore we got free WLAN which was fairly fast. If you want to print you can use the free computer in the lobby. After all we would stay there again. To get to the hotel and back to the airport you can either use a couple of airport services (e.g. Flygbus) or the commuter bus and the train.

Easily reached by foot from city terminal. Friendly reception on arrival. room décor pretty and cozy. bathroom complete with bath and shower and decorated in beautiful slate. nice toiletries and towels. Central location with everything in easy reach. Bought the Stockholm Card which was good value as we visited many attractions and museums and also boat trip included. will definitely return.

Nice hotel. Cute, cozy rooms. Very clean. Breakfast was just ok, not many options. Metro was located just a block or two away to get to the main attractions. Very safe area as a solo traveler I felt completely comfortable at all times. Friendly staff. Very good value for the money.

Get one of the big rooms with the old corner chimney stoves. Totally expensive but worth it - big bed, interesting furniture, huge windows... My favourite hotel in the world - it's relaxed, well organised, great breakfasts, great internal architecture and design, lots to look at in the little coffee / drinks area, plus a little solarium downstairs.
I couldn't ask for more from a hotel.

Room Tip: Get one of the big rooms with the old corner chimney stoves. Totally expensive but worth it

When you get in the hotel, the decoration brings a nice atmosphere. The room is very nice, although the bathroom was a little small. Breakfast is ok without showing off. Staff very friendly and happy to help. The one thing that could be improved is the spa. Yes there is a sauna, but very small and very warm, yes there is a hot tub, but it is not a jacuzzi. However the hotel offered a very pleasant stay. We enjoyed it and would reccomand the place.

This hotel is situated on a quiet road just one block back from the metro. It is in a very pleasant area with plenty of high quality cafes and restaurants close by. My single room was fine and quiet as I requested.
The bread and croissants at breakfast were very high standard though I think they should also provide hot food such as scrambled eggs as that is normal for a hotel if this standard. The staff were friendly and when I asked for something it was provided straightaway.
