My husband and I stayed in a Grand Lit room for 5 nights this July - 2 of these in room 2305 and the rest in 1304. The former we felt was adequate but a bit too small with barely enough space to walk past the bed, and walls in need of some fresh paint. Room 1304, however, which we originally requested, was great - with plenty of character, beautifully decorated, top floor with slanted ceiling, spacious bathroom and a wooden staircase leading from the entrance to the bedroom. (This is the room pictured on the website for this room category).
Staff was very friendly and helpful, the food at the Earth bar tasty and accompanied by live music on Thursday. Tip: you can buy city bicycle cards at the hotel valid for 3 days, which we did and found very convenient. Breakfast is good; not amazing but a good selection and a nice touch of waffles with whipped cream and berries. Breakfast room is indeed too small; we found ourselves taking our plates to the Earth bar just down the stairs one morning, which, however, didn't bother us and was actually a nice change of scenery from the crowded breakfast room.
Overall, a good value hotel with service-minded staff, which is refreshing to see in Scandinavia. Rooms seem to differ in size and quality; but we were very happy with ours.More
