“Decent espresso”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2014 via mobile

This place was selected the best café in Stockholm 2014 by Sweden's leading newspaper (DN). Always craving that espresso bliss, I couldn't resist. The double was decent enough: a somewhat acidic opening, followed by a spicy nutmeg and cinnamon aroma, topped with a solid crema. Subtraction for the glass cup and slow barista.

“Amazing coffee and breakfast, amazing service!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2014

As a tourist from London (recently moved from Australia) I was on the hunt for Stockholm's best coffee and I think I found it. And to make it even better, the grilled sandwich was sublime, but it was the service and warm welcome by the staff which made it amazing! I forgot the gentleman's name unfortunately, but he was more than extremely helpful in translating the menu for us non-Swedish folk and even telling us where to go and what to avoid around Stockholm. Go here if you want a great coffee (I could only compare it to 3 others or so) but it was clearly the best! Not to mention, in a city where value-for-money is scarce, this place was head and shoulders above the rest in quality, value and service.

“Intimate, small cosy place for fika (coffee with bites or lunch)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2014

What I love about Sweden is fika: short for something warm to drink with a sweet bun (bulle) or sandwich at any time. So after some shopping we realized we were hungry and went in the place which is at the end of shopping street Drottninggatan. Brewed coffee (brygkaffe) and tea via special filter is the trend now in Stockholm and this is one of those places. They also have oat milk and lactose free milk, plus some nice food options. We enjoyed a goat cheese salad (came with soft goat cheese, pomegrenade seeds and bulgur), and a reuben (corned beef with cheese) grilled sandwich with a nice salad on the side. Nice to relax during a city trip. The only downside was that they did not have a customer toilet, so I had to ask to use the staff (endast personal) toilet.. Opening hours Monday - Friday 8-17, Saturday and Sunday 10 - 17.

“Ceasarsallad”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2013

Had an early lunch at Esaias outside in the sun. The Ceasarsallad was perfect, the best I ever had. And there have been a lot thrugh my age of 68.
Every deal of it was very good and tasty. And also the people serving, nice and very serviceminded.
The first time at Esaias but absolutely not the last!

From a very lucky guest
