“something new to try in Stockholm”

The Food Tour in Stockholm was an amazing combination of great food, inspirational and funny information about Swedish cuisine and traditions and picturesque places! For me personally one of the most interesting parts of the tour was wandering through Saluhallen where we got to talk to the owners of the stores and try their exquisite Swedish delicacies. The guide was passionate about her topic and personal yet professional in her communication with the audience. The timing was great, every spot of the tour had been definitely thought through and although we ate many times I was happy to eat the lunch in the end In a nutshell, I can for sure recommend The Food Tour to those who want to go off the beaten tourist path and see Stockholm from a different angle!

“Good, but needs work”
Reviewed September 16, 2013

Six of us (3 couples) did this tour during a two day stay in Stockholm after a cruise. We had done the food tour in Copenhagen, and loved it, so booked this one. Unfortunately, our guide was new (her first tour) and not originally from Sweden. She was very nice and pretty knowledgeable, but the relative lack of experience showed. In other food tours (also, an excellent one in Edinburgh) the native guides gave a lot of insight into the culture, in part because they grew up in it.

The other, bigger problem is the choice of food stops. The tour is very heavy on sweets (at least four, all before lunch), and if that is your thing, you will love it. I asked it we would sample some local sea food, and the answer shocked me: the company told the guide most tourists don't like fish, so avoid it. Unbelievable, given that "foodies" love all kinds of food, and even try things they are not used to.

But we did enjoy the tour and some of the food. We did not leave hungry.

“Stockholm Food Tours - what a nice way to get acquainted with the local cuisine and city of Stockholm!”
Reviewed September 9, 2013

We participated at Stockholm Food Tours on sunny Saturday in September, and this combined sightseeing and food tour was a real highlight of our city break. Our tour guide, Karin, introduced us to the tastes and food traditions in Stockholm and Sweden by taking us through the central part of Stockholm. We had several en route food stops, including cheese and smoked ham tastings at local market, stops at local family run chocolate factory, and candy shop, where we could see the whole process of making this special kind of lolly. We had a chance to sip a glass local pear sider in the small park facing the Royal Castle, drink some coffee with cinnamon bun in the café largely cherished by locals, and finally, for the conclusion of the tour, we were served the traditional Swedish meat-balls for hot meal. We also had a little ferry ride during the tour, which gave us better impression of Stockholm as the city situated on many islands. As for the conclusion I would really recommend this tour, as this combines short but compendious city sightseeing with numerous food stops conducted by professional and friendly guide!

“Really great tour!”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

Seeing a lot of Stockholm, whilst eating good food along the way? This is now the way I want to do all my tours when visiting cities! Great koncept, the food was also very good, it was fun that we got to try a little bit of everything, and the tour guide was very knowledgeable! Very interesting facts, which I have shared since :)

“A great way to get to know Stockholm”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

Similar to any larger city, Stockholm is a melting pot for the different food and cultures of Sweden. This tour captures several aspects of the Swedish food culture and presents it in a very pleasant fashion!
Highly recommended!
