We participated at Stockholm Food Tours on sunny Saturday in September, and this combined sightseeing and food tour was a real highlight of our city break. Our tour guide, Karin, introduced us to the tastes and food traditions in Stockholm and Sweden by taking us through the central part of Stockholm. We had several en route food stops, including cheese and smoked ham tastings at local market, stops at local family run chocolate factory, and candy shop, where we could see the whole process of making this special kind of lolly. We had a chance to sip a glass local pear sider in the small park facing the Royal Castle, drink some coffee with cinnamon bun in the café largely cherished by locals, and finally, for the conclusion of the tour, we were served the traditional Swedish meat-balls for hot meal. We also had a little ferry ride during the tour, which gave us better impression of Stockholm as the city situated on many islands. As for the conclusion I would really recommend this tour, as this combines short but compendious city sightseeing with numerous food stops conducted by professional and friendly guide!
