“Fantastic food”
Reviewed April 18, 2013

The flying elk really delivers on what they promise, modern pub-food. The calfs neck for two was an fantastic experience, perfectly cooked meat and a sauce that perfectly accompanies it!
Desserts and starters really matches the quality level.
The negatives would be having to wait more than 30 minutes for our table and not even get an excuse for the delay by the maître Dee. Considering that The flying elk gives you strict time limits when booking a table some other guest must have been more important then us….
We had a late booking and were more than hungry when we arrived, which didn’t help.
The flying elk also has a very good beer selection and are more than helpful in matching food with beer, but recommending a beer without informing about it costing 380SEK a bottle is not ok.
Do visit the elk for the food, it will be worth every bit of your time and money and let’s hope you get a little better service than us.

“Yummy food, great beers!”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

From the celebrated Frantzen & Lindeberg, this is the more laid back option with really nice food! Maybe not the cheapest, but really decent considering the quality. Nice, quick service, cosy rooms- I´d go there again!

“Great food, lovely atmosphere!”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

Lovely atmosphere, laid back and cosy.
Started with oysters, fantastic, food arrived quickly and was delicious! Both had fish main courses, the fish and chips is better than you get in the UK, seriously! (And I am british!) I had halibut which was superb.

This place is a gem, can't wait to go back.
Only niggle is the usual swedish slow service, had to keep waiving to get waitress attention, annoying as the food deserved better.

“Still full, after 3 days”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

To review a restaurant on the first day is not fair,
i was there at the opening day,

Usually its totally chaos, but not here,
Staff is extremly professional, interiör is dark and coasy, not so PUBISH but still dark and warm

This place try to interpret brittish pubfood into modern swedish cuisine with a PUBculturetwist,

The meny is extensive and loads of stuff you wanna order, from starters to deserts.

so far its good, but when u have eaten through a Snack, starter, main and dessert combo you feel a bit full, ,, loads of salt, loads of fat, butter, duck liver, warm and cold, in everything, and ending your dinner with a full plate apple tarte, (for one person), this feels like a heart stopper,
I didnt finish my plates, you couldnt,

This place needs to spilt tips with the HEART and LUNG FOUNDATION,

but i will come back, and this will be a success story, if you dim the lights by the stuffed bear,

thanks for having me,
