“Great food!”
Reviewed December 18, 2013

Me and my husband enjoyed a 5-course meal at Oxelblom in late November 2013. I would definitely recommend this place!

“Quirkey restaurant with great food”
Reviewed November 24, 2013 via mobile

The restaurant interior is very cosy and inviting. The restaurant however is rather small. Since it is small the tables are very close to eachother and you will have no difficulties hearing other peoples conversations, even if they were talking with low voices.

Food was really good, but perhaps not as fantastic as other places we have been at In Stockholm.

If you dont mind dining close to others i can recommend this place.

“If serving creative food; why not go all the way?”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

The concept of this restaurant is pretty straight-forward: They serve dishes from parts of Sweden. Every month- a new menu from two different provinces. The setting is very romantic, staff is kind. It's the feel of "I just stumbled into their lovely hip and cool living room in Sofo", and they make you feel at home as they personally hang your clothes in the back of the restaurant and talk to you as if your friendship go way back. We were a bit dissappointed though as it seemed like they had messed up some of the bookings: My boyfriend had called to book but as we arrive a waitor say they don't have a booking under that name only to change his mind the second after saying "We had a few guests that stayed longer than we expected". Thought he dealt with it fine in the end but after having waited 35-40 minutes for our booked table, you'd think they could knock off the price of the two cocktails we had meanwhile waiting.

We had the five-course menu and a bottle of American white wine. Bill ended up at 1600:- for two people which is definetely pricy for what you get. The dishes are supposed to be creative but they are not going all the way in their creativity. The dishes are tiny: Salmon, deer, moose, wild boar, pike. The pike was our favorite of all dishes. Very buttery-well cooked. The English speaking waitress that attended us was very professional and sweet. We couldn't help but feeling a bit dissappointed though as it seems like their creativity got in the way of actually making the dishes properly tasty. That is the reason why I leave this a three out of five.

Furthermore we had a table in the middle of the room and an extremely annoying set of people in the table behind us: This is no place for business dinners where huge amounts of wine seems to be an imperative for the Swedes, it is a place for cosy dates and mellow talks among friends.

I don't think we will come back but still happy we went after having walked past the place so many times admiring the cosy ambience and decoration.

“Good food and nice atmosphere!”
Reviewed October 19, 2013 via mobile

Good food and nice atmosphere! Cozy! However a little bit irritating English-speaking-waitress. We were choosing a suggested menu. Tasty soup and lamb! It is nothing for those who expect a plate of fried potatoes and piece of meat. Recommended for dates and evenings with friends. Not too expensive, but for sure not too cheap.

“Fantastic ambience, really showcased most of what Sweden has to offer in one evening”
Reviewed September 14, 2013 via mobile

Myself and my girlfriend popped into this fine establishment for a birthday dinner whilst we were on a weekend away (for a friends wedding). Bookings were very straightforward and they were kind enough not to make a fuss when two other friends pulled out last minute. The restaurant itself is tastefully decorated, very vintage and right up my street. Music was lovely- old jazz. The meal began with us sat down on some leather couches having the dining experience explained to us by our lovely waitress- whether we wanted to dine a la carte or if we wanted to try the taster menu. Now here I should explain- the taster menu consists of 5 dishes (2 starters/2 mains/1 dresser) and each month they pit cuisines from two different regions of Sweden against each other (changing the menu monthly). The evening we happened to be dining they were sampling cuisine from Gotland and Halland, naturally we opted for the taster menu. They did warn us the meal would take approximately 2.5 hours. As we had the whole evening ahead we were in no rush and managed to fit in a game of chess and sample some aquavidt. The meal itself was inexplicably delightful. Each course completely different to the other, it was a genuine swedish dinner. Certainly worth the time and money spent. I can't recommend this restaurant enough to anyone passing through Stockholm, especially if you're only in the country for a short while. We were certainly in agreement that this ranked up there as one of the best meals we'd ever had. Visit quick before the rest of Stockholm realise!!
