“A must to have feel of the city”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

The best place to enjoy shopping, people, cafes, food, nightlife, pubs, especially if you visit on weekend nights when the city comes to life.

“Lovely shopping district”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

Many shops with Scandinavian design, as well as reasonably priced restaurants. Much better for shopping "souvenirs" than the tourist traps of Gamla Stan (Old Town)

“The real and original Stockholm, nice people, best restaurants and cafés!”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

Start and end your visit to Stockholm at Södermalm. You have everything here. Södermalm is actually an island. So why not take a walk around, it will take a few hours but there is a lot to experience.

“Stockholm's SoHo”
Reviewed January 31, 2013

Where the atmosphere is as far as people meets are concerned. Pubs, restaurants, clubs, music, views, cozy hotels, etc. You could call it SoOt (South Of Old Town). Try it.

“From workers to yuppies”
Reviewed January 14, 2013

Sodermalm used to be the worker's part of town with lots of simple dwellings, mostly wooden structures. Some of these can still be found in isolated areas and they are lovely to visit. Today you will find lots of people in their 30-40's living here, many with good incomes. There are quite a lot of children which can be seen in all the cafes where they are taken by their mothers in prams. Sodermalm is a dramatic part of Stockholm with sharp cliffs towards the water to the north. Views are great here. There are lots of lovely walks. Shopping is usually on a smaller scale with lots of small shops especially along Hornsgatan and Gotgatan. Sodermalm (or Söder as it's often called, meaning South) has the greatest concentration of restaurants and pubs in Sweden in the area around Medborgarplatsen. This is my part of town.
