This is a great sight to see if you have the time. Take the tram past Skansen Open Air Museum, I think 3 more stops to Waldemarsudde stop. This is the end of the tram line as it circles above the hill and then heads back so pick it up here also to go back. Walk the pathways to the house. This was the former residence of Prins Eugen, It is now a small art gallery and museum. Also, the grounds are beautiful with many trees, flowers and shrubs (at least when we were there). I am sure just as beautiful snow covered. There are many levels down to the water with benches to rest and watch the waterway. As you walk the grounds, notice the many spikes imbedded into the ground for tieing up the ships when they docked there hundreds of years ago. Along the pathways to the house is a cafe. Interesting, as you are on the grounds, look to the distance and high on the hill is the Italian Embassy.

A wonderful location, relaxing surroundings, and interesting exhibitions in an informal setting with very nice terrace and garden...and a couple of coffee places inside and nearby. Don't miss!

The former house of Prins Eugen sits right on the water, with a fantastic view over Södermalm and Gamla Stan. The view itself is worth the 20 minutes of tram (line 7) and the additional 5 minutes of walk.
Best of all, the gardens are open to the public and you can soak in the views from there.

A visit of the manor and its collections takes about 90 minutes. The manor kept its original decorum including paintings from the great early 20th century swedish painters of Carl Larsson and Zorn. Some of Prins Eugen artworks is there as well.

The art gallery houses mostly temporary exhibitions, so check the program in advance.

If you are looking for a real introduction to Swedish art, aim for the Nationalmuseet. But Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde is worth a visit for the combination of art, history and views.

Highly recommended.

Walking in this beautiful garden was a magical experience for us. It was snowing, the scenery so beautiful, tranquil setting, incredible. Would love to go back.

It’s great to keep coming back to this wonderful place. Both the historical rooms of the mansion and the galleries are always filled with pure inspiration. Beautiful floral decorations, pleasant floral scents, interesting exhibitions and friendly staff fill the house.
They also have a great garden for strolling around during summer visits. Wintertime it’s great to just admire the harbour view from the window.
Remember to enjoy a meal in the café and visit the well assorted museum shop.
