Stayed for just one night in sept 2013.
hotel is said to be built in the 1800s, has a nice enough charm about it. rooms look like they clash with the charming theme of the hotel...the colonial look hasnt been maintained in the rooms in an attempt to create more modern rooms; which is a shame. rooms also somewhat smaller than expected, based on the price. no air conditioning in the room...and i dont recall seeing a fan either, but maybe i am mistaken. the lack of either was not really a problem, given outside temp was about 13C in the day. the nicest thing for me about the hotel is probably the colonial looking lifts.
Situated at the famous Drottininggatan (Queens) Street, the plus point to the hotel is location - walking distance to Grand Central Station and metro (which means convenient to and from airport; about 10-15 mins walking distance to train station with one luggage in tow!). Also walking distance to Royal palace, Parliament house and the old part of town, and lots of shopping etc. Plenty of eateries nearby, as hotel food is nothing to shout about. breakfast is simple.
would I stay here again? maybe, because of location, but probably not, given the ample options in stockholm.
