I have stayed in many hostels and I have to say that even this one is called hostel its most definitely more a hotel :) Långholmen was one of the cheepest option so we didnt expect too much so we were very happy to see that this place was truly a spot on choice! Hostel is situated on a lovely green island close to the metro/undeground so you get the benefits of easy travel and peacefull surroundings. Our room was cell for two persons with a own bathroom. We were lucky to get a room from a third floor facing the beach, so view from the window was lovely. Note that you are actually sleeping in cell so the window is quite high to actually look at, so the view is not that important. Very comfortable beds and clean room, no disturbance of any kind, best sleep in long time - basicly nothing to complain about. Staff was friendly and there is a kitchen you can use if you want to. Breakfast cost extra (about 90kr) but its definitely worth every penny.

Room Tip: Upper floor facing the beach is definitely a good choice

for a hostel, very good. it is run by a bunch of kids who seem to be the best teacher's pets i have ever seen. Very harsh on the rules but never telling you where your room is when you arrive or asking if you need help when you are struggling with your luggage.
Service? none.
Good for the students and the cheap adults. I thought it will be quite an experience to spend a week sleeping in a cell. Well, it si not :)

This hostel is super interesting! It's located at an old prison in Stockholm, there's a kitchen, a restaurant, and a gift shop. My friend and I were there for four days in December. The staff were super helpful and nice. You can do laundry there and get a box in the fridge for your groceries. Hemköp is about 15 minutes walk away, right by the metro stop. The hostel is on its own island and there's lots of hiking trails to go on. There's even a beach for the summer months. I'm definitely going back! Loved this place!

You walk into Langholmen Hostel and might be a bit apprehensive, but once you take a walk around and look in your room, you realize what a spectacular job was done in the transformation of this place into somewhere that is comfortable to stay for a few nights. The rooms are small, but still with plenty of room for two with bunk-beds. Each room has its own private bathroom. The room was very clean, which is a plus when staying in hostels.

It was a bit far from the city (maybe a 30 minute walk). But a short ride on the subway. I chose to walk most of the time because the walk is along the water and very beautiful. The island does not have much - really no food options, but it does have kayaking close by, and plenty of shops just across the bridge.

If you don't mind being a bit outside the city, Langholmen is your place for sure.

Stayed 4 nights in this hostel and thoroughly enjoyed it. Just a funa and great atmosphere that is very clean and secure, Located near subway line and a short distance from city center. This used to be a prison that held 70,000 prisoners. You will not regret staying here !!! Breakfast is just incredible !! . A must if you are in Stockholm.

Room Tip: 4 bed dorm room is big !
