I stayed here for five nights with my Mum and Dad in a family room (to keep costs down) and our room was very small with not much space to manoeuvre. I slept on a pop up temporary bed which was actually very comfortable. Despite being a bit cramped, the room was spotless and very nicely decorated. We looked out into a snowy residential square which was not the greatest of views, but we felt part of the community and enjoyed watching people go about their daily business. There was a cupboard and set of drawers in the room for storage. A television and tea and coffee making facilities were on hand too.

The bathroom was an average size with everything you need to get clean, minus a bath, which wouldn't have been used by us anyway.

The hotel was decorated throughout in a very simple and stylish Scandanavian manner. There was a welcoming reception area with friendly and helpful staff (they sent my Dad's phone back to England free of charge when he got home and realised he'd left it in Sweden!) The only thing that might catch you out is that the doors to all rooms open towards you which took a bit of getting used to.

The highlight of the hotel has to be the breakfast room experience. Situated at the top of the hotel, the breakfast room is light and airy and offers fabulous views of the rooftops of Stockholm. Many a morning we enjoyed watching the men shovel snow off the tops of houses with no safety equipment! The choice of food at breakfast was varied with hot and cold options. Although I did not quite fancy the pickled herring first thing in the morning!

Tegnerlunden square is a lovely area to be situated, residential buildings surround the square and are wonderful examples of Scandinavian architecture. There is a little grass park in the centre with various statutes and benches scattered about. It would be wonderful to sit in on a summer's day but we found it rather difficult to traverse over in two foot of snow! The hotel is about a ten minute walk from the centre of town.

If I were to return to Stockholm I would definitely come back to the Tegnerlunden, but next time I would leave the family at home!

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights on December 2012 and I was very satisfied especially considering the price paid compared to other options in Stockholm.
1. Location - The hotel is located centrally at walking distance from the train station (10 min), Drottninggatan Street (pedestrian street with shops and restaurants) - 1 min and even Gamla Stan (15 min).
2. Rooms - the room I stayed in was relatively small but nice, with comfortable beds. Bathroom, again quite small, but enough considering that I was travelling alone.
3. Breakfast - Great breakfast at the top floor of the hotel with good options.
Overall I was very satisfied with my stay and I think the hotel offers a very good value for money in an expensive city. However, rooms could be a bit small for a couple especially for a longer stay.

This is a nice hotel overlooking a small park which is very picturesque. Breakfast comes with a view on the sixth floor - and lots of choice, just what you need to get you ready for a day's sightseeing! The main pedestrianised shopping street is right around the corner and it is a straight walk down here to the Gamla Stan old part. The rooms were ok in size and were very clean.
Lots of nice restaurants round and about and everywhere is within walking distance. Getting from the train station with bags was ok, about 15/20 mins walk and just a bit uphill - but easier on the way back as it is all downhill!
Staff were friendly and informative. I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for one overlooking the park

The place is well lit, the position is extremely good, right beside Dottningsgatan, Stockholm's longest strolling place. Friendly personnel, good rooms with a very beautiful panorama on the park. Excellent breakfast in the roof covered terrace, looking at Stockholm's roofs. I will come back.

Clean, efficient and well-located. Pleasant and knowledgeable staff willing to assist guests. Lovely breakfast is a good way to begin a day of site-seeing. Don't try to walk from the train station with luggage- it's almost a mile and much of it is uphill.

We stayed at Hotel Tegnerlunden in December 2012. It was a short 1km walk from the train station and it quite well located right near many restaurants, shops and is an easy walk to where a lot of bus tours depart from. It is a few kilometers walk to the Old City from Tegnerlunden but I like to walk as you get to see a bit more of the city. The rooms are a little small but they are neat, tidy, well furnished and cosy. The breakfast was included in our room package and it was more than enough for each morning. The staff were helpful. We asked to have our room changed to one with a better view and were accommodated immediately. It was good value for money and we enjoyed our stay there. There is no full restaurant in the hotel for dinner but they offer some drinks and snacks in the afternoon and evening to purchase.

Room Tip: If you ask for a room overlooking the nearby park, it is a much prettier view than the other side of...

Very pleasant hotel with short access to the main shopping street leading to the Old Town. Clean bathroom and bedrooms, pretty diversified breakfasts constantly refilled by the attentive staff. Internet is no problem with wifi.
