I stayed here for five nights with my Mum and Dad in a family room (to keep costs down) and our room was very small with not much space to manoeuvre. I slept on a pop up temporary bed which was actually very comfortable. Despite being a bit cramped, the room was spotless and very nicely decorated. We looked out into a snowy residential square which was not the greatest of views, but we felt part of the community and enjoyed watching people go about their daily business. There was a cupboard and set of drawers in the room for storage. A television and tea and coffee making facilities were on hand too.
The bathroom was an average size with everything you need to get clean, minus a bath, which wouldn't have been used by us anyway.
The hotel was decorated throughout in a very simple and stylish Scandanavian manner. There was a welcoming reception area with friendly and helpful staff (they sent my Dad's phone back to England free of charge when he got home and realised he'd left it in Sweden!) The only thing that might catch you out is that the doors to all rooms open towards you which took a bit of getting used to.
The highlight of the hotel has to be the breakfast room experience. Situated at the top of the hotel, the breakfast room is light and airy and offers fabulous views of the rooftops of Stockholm. Many a morning we enjoyed watching the men shovel snow off the tops of houses with no safety equipment! The choice of food at breakfast was varied with hot and cold options. Although I did not quite fancy the pickled herring first thing in the morning!
Tegnerlunden square is a lovely area to be situated, residential buildings surround the square and are wonderful examples of Scandinavian architecture. There is a little grass park in the centre with various statutes and benches scattered about. It would be wonderful to sit in on a summer's day but we found it rather difficult to traverse over in two foot of snow! The hotel is about a ten minute walk from the centre of town.
If I were to return to Stockholm I would definitely come back to the Tegnerlunden, but next time I would leave the family at home!
