I stayed here for the Christmas markets, A general lack of availability at the other hotels. The hotel had a good location. I use Scandic hotels a lot (Top Floor member). This hotel fell a long way short of all the other Scandics I have visited (Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo, Skovde, Arvika).

Apart from being slightly tired, the sound insulation was very poor. I did not get much sleep the first night due to very loud music until past midnight, followed by children playing in the corridors very early. The breakfast as fine, however the number of rooms vs kitchen facilities played a problem in the busy times. (i.e. a very long wait for clean cutlery to be available) etc.

However despite the negatives, the room was very clean, bathroom was cleanish and the hotel had a good location. Equally it was cheap and had available rooms.

I was booked into the Scandic while I was writing for the Nobel Week Dialogue early in December. Whilst the interior of the hotel is a bit of a warren, I was glad of the long wander because my room had a great view of the city conference centre and the park in front. Whilst it's a bit of a distance from the popular Gamla Stan, the hotel was attached to the conference centre, where I was working, so it was perfect. Gamla Stan was only 15 mins walk away, and there's plenty to occupy yourself on the car-free wander there.

The beds were very comfortable, and I appreciated the iron and ironing board in the room as I was there on business. Everything was exceptionally clean and thee was little to be heard from adjacent bedrooms.

The best thing about my stay was the totally awesome breakfast spread. A great selection of muesli constituents, berries and yoghurts; trays of cheeses and meats; multiple types of fresh bread; the usual juices and coffee/tea; and cooked egg, bacon and sausages. It was very cold, so it justified partaking of everything.

Will stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms 704-710 all have great views looking out over a large platz and great view of the skyline.

Probably I would have good opinion of this hotel if not for one thing - bathroom was filthy!! (look at the photo – black mould in the corners, should not happened in 4* hotel) When I complained at the reception they said that they are sorry but they neither offered me other clean room nor price reduction.
Other minus - breakfast room was very crowed even at 8 am
Luggage storage- hotel denies any responsibility for left luggage while storage room is away from reception and everyone can walk in form the street and ask for it to be open.

Pluses - location near the train station (buses from the airport) and main shopping street.
Room was not big but was well organized and lighting was good and there was kettle and coffee ect.. Choice for breakfast was wide enough. There is one computer in the lobby where you can surf and print your boarding passes.
To sum up - not very bad but when I will back in Stockholm I will stay somewhere else.

This Scandic hotel is right in the city center and very easy access to all the sights. Rooms are clean and comfortable but not big. Very good breakfast buffet with lots of choices. Stockholms major shopping street is just around the corner. Gamla Stan, the Royal Palace and many more sight are in walking distance from the hotel. I can really recommend staying here if you want to make the most of your stay in Stockholm.

Room Tip: Make sure that you get a room as high up as posible. Also go for a room facing the street.

Scandic Norra Bantorget has a good location, a short stroll from Drottninggatan, the main shopping street in central Stockholm. It's located next to a conference center and many of the guests attend conferences.

As usual at Scandic hotels, the rooms are comfortable and well furnished. The adapted rooms are fairly adequately designed with enough space in the room and a spacious bathroom with enough transfer space. The only problem is the zink which is too high for me.

The breakfast buffet is excellent, as you can expect in Sweden. The service is efficient and professional.
