We had a nice stay for a short weekend break. The positive first......Great location near to Gamle Stan and many restaurants, easy walking distance to town. Generally the hotel is good. The bar is efficient if a bit lacking in atmosphere, the staff are good but well trained rather than friendly and a good feature is that one needs a room key to operate the lift to any of the floors. One last positive was that when we reported a light bulb out it was fixed vary quickly.

We stayed here two years ago and enjoyed it more. Recommend paying a bit more to get an upgraded room ( we did last time) since the one we got this time was small, dark and very hot since it was almost impossible to turn the heat down. The ice machine didn't work on our floor and was not fixed despite reporting it to reception. Lastly it seems the rooms could use a bit of maintenance.

Would we stay here next time? Probably not, but if we couldn't find a good alternative we wouldn't worry be too worried about it - we would order an upgrade though.

Chose this Hotel for its location, we wanted to Stay on Gamla Stan as it was close to the office of some business colleagues that we were visiting. It turned out also in a good location for visiting the local sites and attractions. The hotel itself is not untypical of many Stockholm hotels being sparsely decorated and furnished and getting to be a little old and dated. However it was very comfortable and good value for money. The Breakfast was the usual self service arrangements which are also typical in buffet style but sufficient and adequate. We will probably not use this Hotel again as our hosts recommended somewhere that was even nearer o where they work , but we would recommend this hotel for its proximity to the old town and the splendid dinning establishments that exist in the locality .

Reisen hotel location is one of the best you can find in Stockholm. The hotel is rated highly - I assume it relates to the location and the preservation of the old building. It is a very nice welcoming hotel yet the rooms are quite small for my liking and fairly spartan. For my taste - too small rooms. Breakfast was good with many options, the staff is very welcoming and helpful.
It's a nice hotel but not likely I will go again, in terms of value for money - I think it's too expensive.

Room Tip: Try asking for high floors, than you can have a sea view Avoid the corner rooms on first floor, you...

My friend and I stayed several nights at this hotel and found it to be wonderful. The price was quite reasonable for Gamla Stan, and the location is terrific. The room was clean, large enough for two of us, comfortable, and well appointed. The restaurant served a very nice breakfast. Dinner was fine, not great but fine if you arrive too tired to go out. The front desk staff were very helpful. We walked to everything, or took a water taxi to the further out points. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to friends traveling or to other couples.

Room Tip: If you can pay a little more for the larger rooms, do it. The view is worth it.

Had one night on business here. Cuts the mustard for comfort and superb views if you have a room at the front. My standard room was number 308 looking towards the water and the clipper.

Dinner in the bar was mediocre. Artichoke soup was plain. I was hoping for a Swedish meatball dish but no such fare was available. Fish and chips instead: ok but not standout. You are probably better off roaming the Old Town in search of a bit more flair and local cuisine.

Breakfast was good but not as spectacular as others state. A very wide range of hot food, cereals, bread and fruit.

Free wifi worked well and checkout was a generous 12pm midday.

Room Tip: Ask for a seafacing room. It looks over the road, but the windows are double-glazed and keep the roo...

Location is great, just in "Gamla stan" with minutes to walk to restaurants etc. The rooms are cosy, not a sterile hotel room. Stayed here twice on business, once in a room facing the sea, the other time a room facing the back. It was quieter towards the back. The breakfast is wonderful. Recommended.

I would agree with previous reviewers that the rooms are the weakest part of the hotel. I spent 3 nights here in December and found the stay to be acceptable, but do think they need to refurbish the rooms which are a bit tired looking. Our room was also very warm, we could not turn down the heating and even with the window open it was stuffy. Our room looked over an alley which meant that there was some noise from deliveries and so on. The lobby and bar area are better than the rooms. The bar is quite lively with nice cocktails, and the breakfast is excellent with lots of choice. The location is great for sightseeing.
