My wife and I came here for our short trip to Stockholm

This hotel is located somewhat away from the very center of the city.
It took us about 20-25 to reach the historic Old town by feet.
The subway station is about 5-7 minutes away.
The district itself is quiet.

The design of the hotel is modern and cozy.
The atmosphere of the hotel is nice and bright.

The room was functional and clean.

The breakfast was great with a wide selection of dishes.

In general this hotel was a great bargain and we really enjoyed our stay here.

I stayed at hotel Birger Jarl with my friend to celebrate new years in Stockholm. The hotel was good, and so was the location. If you dont mind using your legs, you can walk all over the city, it's about a ten minutes walk to Stureplan. If not, the metero is only two minutes away. The hotel service was great, with really friendly staff. The breakfast was also really good - clean and tempting. The only minus with this hotel is that the room (queen size) is not too big, and if I were going on a romantic vacation i would probably upgrade my room. I wouldnt mind going back, though. Considering the price, it was perfect for our purpose.

The room was clean and glad we got a double bed. Staff were polite and the only downside was the room is quite small. Very quite area with no background noise. Breakfast was very good and they were quite relaxed on the times, so if you were running late they would still let you help yourself. I'd come back again.

This hotel is better than average, but the most important thing (the bed) didn't agree with either of us. Maybe we are spoiled with a good mattrass at home, but here every morning we woke up with sore backs. The mattrass isn't worn out or something. So again, maybe it's just us. Don't want to make it a big point. Because overall it's a nice hotel with helpfull staff, an excellent breakfast buffet, good wifi.
If you want to go to the old town or Djurgarden, you'll find that the hotel is a bit further away from those locations if you like to walk. On the other hand there is enough to see along the route.
One thing the hotel could do different is the welcoming gift. Some hotels you get a free drink. Here you get a voucher for a free dessert, which means that you first need to spend more money there by having dinner. Don't misunderstand me; having dinner there is not a punishment, on the contrary, but I like to go downtowm for dinner. I already sleep there and have breakfast.

Room was comfortable, but not 4* quality. Walls were a little thin and you could hear your neighbors coming and going. Staff was very friendly and the breakfast buffet was excellent. Everything was within walking distance (15mins) and there were plenty of good restaurants in the area. I would definitely stay there again.

Birger Jarl's newly renovated design rooms are stylish but not very special. The best thing about this hotel was location - opposite great Asian fusion restaurant Farang and several other top restaurants of the city within short walking distance. Breakfast and wlan worked, too.

Room Tip: We enjoyed a seventh floor room with rooftop views.

I stayed for two nights at this hotel on business. It was withing comfortable walking distance (15 minutes) to the downtown and the terminus of the Arlanda Express. The neighbourhood immediately surrounding didn't strike me as having a lot to offer, but again, it wasn't a long walk to restaurants and shops. The lobby was quite inviting and seemed to have a lot of life, undoubtedly in part to the bar that shares the space. The hallways and other common areas seemed a bit dated, and the my room was surprisingly small (even by European standards) and spartan. Nonetheless, the room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The highlight of my stay, however, was the breakfast buffet, which was far better than average in both variety and quality of the offerings. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would consider staying again if I were to find myself in Stockholm on business.
