Our experience in this elegant hotel was wonderful. We were fortunate to get free upgrade to one of the suites. We have arrived early and our room was not ready. I have my baby with me, so the staff was so nice to get us a suite immediately. The suite is amazing: comfy bed and modern bathroom with jacuzzi. The location is excellent. It took us 10 min walk from the main station/Arlanda express stop. Breakfast is awesome, don't miss it.
The only drawback is that the swimming pool and the gym is actually offsite. So you will have to walk two blocks to get there.

The first impression was not the best. The cab dropped us off on a small side street and I thought there had been a mistake but there was not. There were double doors up a few stairs to enter the Lobby but no one to help you with the bags or to hold the doors. Everyone, absolutely everyone, was helpful and friendly at the front desk.

We booked a large room with a balcony; room size is strictly based upon what you book. We took the elevator up 5 floors and then changed elevators or took a spiral stair case. The room was very nice and spacious. There were issues but they were promptly taken care of. Now, I was shocked to find, next to the Pringles, nuts and wine for sale in the closet, Fish Net stockings, condoms, a vibrator and handcuffs. There was also information for the Pleasure Palace for which the staff could arrange an appointment for you at the store or they would come to the room. Fortunately I am not a prude. I ask the front desk about it and they said it was a recent addition to add a quirkiness to the hotel. I think they succeeded there.

Breakfast was nice and I had no problem with the staff, as a previous reviewer mentioned. You cannot beat the location. You can walk anywhere and if you do not feel like walking you are a block to the tram and bus.

When we were there protests were happening at night about some labor issues. It seemed to be more targeted to the bar and restaurant patrons. I had no idea they had a big dance bar that was a mixed, gay/straight, crowd. They also had a restaurant that appeared to be Japaneses and sushi.

All in all it was a good experience and I would go back.

As other travelers have pointed out the room was small, but we were prepared for this. We requested a "quiet room", which we got, and had no sleep problems. Overall everything was excellent. The dining hall itself is worth the stay!

First impressions were v. good. Helpful reception staff. Spacious rooms with nice touches - such as a steam room in the bathroom. Great food in the restaurant. Big sofas to lounge on and read the papers... but then the adjacent nightclub kicked into gear and the room thudded into the early hours, on top of that we had to listen to our neighbours carrying on in the suite next door. One of the worst night's sleep I've had in a long time. And to top it off we had to endure the gumpiest service staff at breakfast - may be they'd slept onsite too!

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad that you appreciated Berns Hotel and the venue of Berns Salonger but of course take your comments into account regarding the sound issue and the breakfast staff this date. Unfortunately your room happened to be one which was disturbed by sounds this night when we were fully booked and we are very sorry about it. All our guests should of course have a good night’s sleep and no guests are allowed to have visits after 10 pm. We are also very sorry about the level of service of the breakfast personnel this morning and we will of course look into this as part of our regular efforts in keeping a high spirited, motivated and utterly service-minded staff.

Wish you a warm welcome back,

Berns Hotel

The Berns is a very elegant, chic and centrally located hotel with very friendly and helpful staff and easy acces to all of Stcokholm's attractions. The rooms are beautiful and there are amusing itemsfor guests to peruse in the minibar which I won't go into here. The large breakfast room with its ornate chandeliers and quirky art work was also delightful. The problem, as another reviwer has noted recetnly, is its nightclub. I had requested a quiet room but nothing could save us from the UK DJs who descended on Saturday night. The whole hotel felt like it was vibrating - unitl 4am - so not much of a decent sleep for weary holiday makers. Everyone at breakfast on Sunday morning looked a bit fed up and it was hard to enjoy a day sightseeing after virtually no sleep. So, book weekend noghts at your own risk or considerbooking only Sunday to Thursday nights instead when the nightclub isn't open.

We chose this hotel primarily because for the air conditioning. Fortunately, the weather was cool when we visited, so a/c wasn't an issue. We had the large balcony room which was very quiet. The bathroom was modern, however, very tiny. The tub/shower was slick as glass and quite small. The furniture was worn and should have been replaced last year.

The entry to the hotel is an unimpressive ally and hard for our taxi driver to find. There was much activity at the Bern ...a wedding and a movie shoot and lots of business meetings. The staff was quite pleasant but didn't seem to know much about the tourist attractions. They directed us to the tourist information booth near the hotel.

The location was ideal and we dined in the old town at wonderful restaurants every night. All in all, we had a better time at the Bern that I thought we would.

This hotel is heavenly. The location is superb, the rooms are modern and roomy (many with huge windows and great light), and the staff is very accommodating. Both the French Bistro and Asian-fusion restaurant are excellent. This place really has it all. The only problem was a very loud nightclub. The staff changed my room and upgraded me when I mentioned that I could hear the booming music late into the night. Now, that is service!
