I can honestly say I have never stayed anywhere like this. The hotel itself is very basic which is surprising because when you put a hotel in the middle of nowhere you expect them to try and make up for the geographical disadvantage! It is close to the Stockholm convention centre (about a 15 minute walk) but the problem is that you have to cross four lanes of motorway traffic and climb over a median to begin the walk to the convention centre. The advice from the girl at reception when I asked about getting across the road was to 'just make a run for it and then wait in the middle until the lights change'.The shuttle bus to the convention centre which the hotel said ran all day in fact doesn't.The trek into the city involves either two buses and a train/a 15 minute walk and then a train/taxi which can cost anything from 25 to 30 euro .The breakfast was ok but the food in the restaurant in the evening was terrible...clearly they know they have a captive audience and so don't have to bother much. While the room was clean there was a kettle but no cups, tea, coffee etc. Also there was a mini bar with nothing in it.The beds were tiny and uncomfortable and it was without doubt the worst hairdryer I have ever encountered. The pictures which the hotel shows on its website has no resemblance to the hotel I saw.Only advisable if you're doing one or two nights for a convention in the nearby centre and even then it would be my last choice!I know this looks like a long list of complaints (because it is) but really the location of the hotel is the biggest drawback. If they were to pick this hotel up and put it in a more central part of the city then you might get over some of the basic drawbacks ,but when you're stuck in the middle of nowhere with bad service it just makes ervything so much worse.

First things first; this hotel is in the middle of nowhere. It is best reached (and by that, I mean best of a bad set of options), by going to Älvsjö station and taking a taxi costing approx. €12 to the hotel from there. It is in an industrial area, next to a dual carriageway - the only public transport option was to try and cross this road and walk 10 minutes through a wooded area, being a lone traveller I decided not to take this option.
There are no shops nearby, and no vending machines, apart from for cigarettes. A selection of snacks can be bought from the front desk. The only food option is bland Chinese fare (the whole hotel is loosely Chinese themed).
I spent so much of my budget simply getting to and from the hotel that I ended up eating sandwiches from 7-Eleven for the week and filling up on breakfast (which was perfectly fine). There are transfers available for free to the Stockholm International Fair, which is great if you're there for a conference, but not much use to tourists, especially backpackers.
All in all, I really didn't have a great stay due to the isolation of the hotel, but the staff were nice and the rooms were big. Weirdly there's a fridge and a kettle, but no cups or teabags/coffee etc. in the room. I can't recommend it to anyone apart from native business people with their own transport.

Stayed with my husband, brother-in-law and 2 of our best friends for one night for the Wings vs. Blues season opener. After reading previous reviews, I was a bit concerned about the booking, but price and location were so good I took a chance as we were really only going to be in the room to clean up and sleep. In the end, we all were quite pleasantly surprised by the New World. Staff was courteous and helpful, the common spaces were fine, the breakfast buffet adequate. We had a double room, the 3 others singles, and ours was really quite spacious; the singles were standard Euro single sized rooms - small but perfectly nice. All rooms were clean, and comfortable.

As to the location, yes, it certainly is in an industrial area, and it's not attractive, but we had no problem whatsoever finding the hotel when arriving by car. I must admit I cannot fathom those who claimed the hotel to be a long way from public transport...we were traveling from the hotel to the Globe Arena, and it could not have been more convenient or easy - even in the driving rainstorm we had to get thru. Bus stop a couple of blocks away which connected to the tram system and from there easily to the train if necessary. One of our party got from the hotel to old Stockholm in 35 min by public transport and said it was a piece of cake...

Overall, we all said it was better than we expected, a bargain, and we'd certainly stay again.

ok let me tell u pro s and cons.

good things: buffet breakfast, nice receptionists, comfortable bed and huge rooms, huge LCD TV, free shuttle service to the fair, have sauna

bad things: not close to subway, out of no where, not very close to a market

well if you are in stockholm for business or for the fair, you can consider this hotel. otherwise, there are so many others to choose from.

The taxi drivers know the hotel as "the chinese hotel". You can see chinese ornaments everywhere. I stayed at this hotel with my colleagues on a business trip. It is close to the Stockholm International Conference Centre (Stockholmsmässan). The hotel is two stations far from the city centre. To get to the centre you either walk (not recommended at all) or take the bus to the nearest train station (Arstaberg), or simply take a taxi which costs around SEK 175. The rooms are ok, the linens and towels were clean enough and changed daily. But the minibar was empty. My friend didn't even have a fridge in her room. The rooms have kettles, though they're not very clean. My room was on the warehouses' side and was a bit noisy at night. The reception staff is friendly and helpful.

The hotel is located in an industrial area south of Stockholm with a 10 minutes walk to the nearest train station.

Rooms are filthy and in a bad shape even though towels and bed linnen were fresh.

The breakfast was terrible and not well kept at all, the worst hotel breakfast ive ever had.

The only positive thing was the low price but honestly i would rather pay more than coming back there again.
