Review was based on room 511: I stayed for a week while I was on holidays in stockholm . Pretty happy overall with the hotel and service . As I was staying for a week they upgrading my room which was nice. The room itself was little small but overall very clean and was recently renovated. Location was ideal as it was walking distance to public transport but also some attractions and major shopping centres .
In regards to other reviews about noise issue and bad breakfast, I had no issue with loud noise from night club downstairs and breakfast was great.

This hotel is one of the best I have ever stayed in. Traveling alone, I found it to be very safe and comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful and attentive, the breakfast was incredible, and the location is within walking distance from every attraction. I would 100% recommend staying here!

Hotel building is difficult inside to walking: Y can find two, three steps in corridor, curved corridors and representational stair case goes "nowhere". Typical big, old, town building :). Rooms from backyard are quiet but a little bit darker that from main street side. Rooms are cosy, comfy with interesting modern elements for example glass wall from bathroom (what is embarrassing when Y are not alone in room and wish to use a WC ...). Breakfast is in independent pub-restaurant next-to hotel lobby. Fortunately internal doors between - guarantees direct passage. Breakfast is humdinger :). Y can find wide choice of typical international dishes and also Swedish specials. Y can eat breakfast watching street live :).
It is nice and quite big park opposite site of the street. Y have also city bicycle station there. And walking distance from shopping district and Kungsträdgården. But if Y want to go to all important and "must-see" islands in the city centre: city bike is the best way to do it.

I've stayed in another Elite hotel in Stockholm before (in Tekniska Hogskolan, another district in Stockholm). As part of a chain, Elite Hotel Stockholm Plaza surprises me because it doesn't FEEL like a chain hotel. From my understanding, the Elite chain buys all buildings and refurbishes them, often time preserving its facade. Even the Elite hotel in Tekniska Hogskalan was great - the facade was old but the interior was artsy and modern. The Elite Hotel Stockholm Plaza is a beautiful building. It is less artsy than the one in Tekniska Hogskolan but definitely more luxe-ish. The room I stayed was very comfortable, and the service overall was superb. The breakfast was relatively standard (with smoked salmon, lox, pate, hams, eggs, bacon etc.). The one fun thing about breakfast was that there was a waffle machine where one could make their own waffles. Honestly, this was fun - I've never done this before in any hotel, so I thought this made it very quirky. The hotel was near the train station (also the Elite hotel in Tekniska Hogskolan), so I highly recommend this hotel to any business traveler, or even just regular tourists. I definitely want to go back again! No regrets!

At best this hotel is a 2.5 stars. It's not horrible, it just didn't even come close to my expectations. So many little things were just not right, No coffee or tea in the room. And no room service to bring a pot up. Shower was warm, never hot. The central heating was turned off - they offered a space heater. Soaps/shampoo were never replaced. The bed was comfortable and the extra blanket offered by the helpful front desk clerk was appreciated, but the constant noise from the club downstairs, made it difficult to get a good nights sleep.

The location is fantastic of this hotel, very central.

The bed in my first room was just horrible. I did not get much sleep at all due to the extremely poor quality. It was like sleeping in a hole. My back was killing me. When I told the reception in the morning I was met with the typical Swedish attitude, the receptionists started defending the bed rather than giving value to my experience. I was told I could have a different room for my second night.

I had an important event in Stockholm that day which I needed to be very well prepared for. I went back to my room and put up the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door. That sign means absolutely nothing at this hotel. FOUR times during two hours hotel staff ignored the sign and used the master key to just walk right into the room. The fourth one even had the audacity to start arguing with me.

There is a night club in the hotel and it is LOUD. All the smokers stand on the street right underneath the hotel rooms and they scream and sound like drunk people do. Not very nice to try to sleep to this.

The breakfast is served in the night club. It is dark, gloomy and it feels like you're eating breakfast in a cave. The bread was not fresh, the buns were baked the day before or even older. I know my breads having grown up as a baker's son. The pate was sliced and had been discolored because it had been sitting out for too long. The staff were very busy.........taking to each other! The guests were way down on their priority list.

I took a bath in the morning. As I unplugged the tub, the whole floor of the bathroom got flooded.

Need I say that this hotel is not a place I would recommend. They need to train their staff when it comes to service and they need to decide if they are a hotel or a night club.

Really pleased with the hotel. Great location. Nice and clean. Really enjoyed a good quality breakfast with a nice variety. great making your own waffles!

Staff were great. Had to ring hotel reception a couple of times for help and they came straight up. Only down side is a big one - there is a club below the hotel and the noise for rooms at the front is a very significant problem.
