While staying at the Hotel Skeppsholmen, my wife and I took a very short walk to the Restaurant Hjerta. This is a small restaurant, with outdoor seating, located in a renovated navy torpedo facility along the boardwalk of the adjoining marina. A serene and beautiful spot on Skeppsholmen island. Here we enjoyed the best and most memorable dining during our Stockholm visit.
Our dinner was obviously prepared and served by folks who were truly dedicated to pleasing their guests. After a deliciously fresh salad, we were served a perfectly prepared and presented Sole Meunière garnished with smoked bacon, cauliflower, and a browned tomato butter. This was immediately followed by a steaming bowl of the most delicious new potatoes I have ever eaten. With a nice white wine, we ate in hushed amazement at the quality of our dinner. For an encore, we enjoyed a delicate dessert composed of vanilla pudding, raspberries, sponge cake croutons and blackcurrant sorbet. Just perfect!
Our recommendation, if in Stockholm find it and enjoy it as we did. Special kudos to Sofia, and her crew, for their unprecedented kindness and graciousness.
