I went there with my 2 and a half yr old son and he had a blast. The entry fee is quite reasonable and includes entry to the toy museum inside. Its very quiet in the day but starts filling in after lunch. There are a lot of buses and trains to climb into and pretend you are travelling in them. There is a simulator tram, train and bus for the little ones to drive( or pretend they are driving. My son loved the Brio play area where they have a huge table full of toytracks to assemble and toytrains to drive. The museum has a small train that takes a small round of the museum. The cafe is good and neat. Must visit with small kids.

This was the first time I visited the place and did not have very high expectations, we went there because it is in the same building as the toy museum. I have three girls who I thought might not be as into busses and trains as boys, but they fell in love with the place! They thought it was much better than toy museum. It was a weekday, so the place was not crowded, they could climb on the vehicles, drive a T-bana and a bus, just simply enjoy themselves. The time just flew by. And the cafe is very reasonably priced. Really worth seeing!

My kids (7 & 8) loved this museum! It's a popular place so it's gets quite crowded in the weekends.
There is a toy museum that you can visit as well but we only went for a quick look. The kids prefered that various buses and trams where you could pretend to be the driver or collect tickets.
There is a cafe with an assortement of pastries as well as hot dogs, lasagna etc.
Remember to buy an extra ticket for the small train that runs through the museum.

I've now taken our 2-3 year old son here twice and have had to drag him away on both occasions. One tip on entering this museum. Try to avoid the shop to left on the way in as it's full of Brio and other railway toys. There's a big Brio wooden railway set to play with in the museum itself. The 40kr entance fee include admission to the Toy Museum (http://www.leksaksmuseet.se/html/english.htm) which is located at the back of the transport area.

The museum consists of pretty much one big open plan space and contains a wide range of buses, trams and trains going back over the decades. Many of the vehicles include some sort of access even if it's just the passenger seats. In a few cases you can get into the driver's cab and on at least two occasions you can pretend to drive whilst viewing a video of the actual journey.

There's a very small model railway that winds its way through the museum (small additional charge). I actually found this to small to sit on but it goes so slowly that you can put your child on it and then walk alongside. One word of warning as it's very easy for small kids to run off between trains. There is one vehicle where you can climb down a ladder/staircase to look underneath. This is very steep and there's not much to stop a running child falling straight down.

The Toy Museum is probably more interesting for adults and older kids as most exhibits are in display cases. Our son found this quite frustrating. If you need food then there is a small cafe serving hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and cold salads. For something more substantial you're only a five minute bus ride from central Södermalm or a short (steep) walk from Fåfängen (http://fafangan.se/?lang=en) an in/outdoor cafe with good views back across Stockholm.
