Owner description: The Stockholm City Hall is one of Sweden's most famous buildings, and one of the capital's most visited tourist attractions. It houses offices for 200 people including the Municipal Council, and is also famous for its grand ceremonial halls and unique art pieces. The Stockholm City Hall is the venue of the Nobel Prize banquet held on 10 December each year. Between May and September, the City Hall Tower offers a breathtaking view of Stockholm.

This City Hall, where the Nobel Prizes are given out each year, is a must see in Stockholm. The location is beautiful and the building is beautiful inside and out. We had a wonderful tour which explained the area where they give out the Nobel Prizes, the beautiful frescos and mosaic pictures and the parliament room.

Well, not really floating on the water but the architect wanted to give this impression. And it is very scenic. We took a tour of the City Hall (you MUST be with a group) and it's quite a place. The Nobel Banquet is held here and you can purchase postcards of how the hall looks when set up for its famous guests. We saw the city council chambers for over 200! and a Gold Room with more than 18 million gold tiles covering the walls.

The Stockholm City Hall can make a great picture especially in the dusk if taken from Riddarholmen. You can get a perfect reflection in the water.

Impressive to see the swedish symbol tre kronor on top of bulding you can also see it on the national hockey team.Inside there was a inner square with a tree and in the back a garden. On side of the bulding is a empty tomb covered in gold of Birger Jarl the founder of the swedish capital. You can also see a statue of the asa god and traitor Loke it is hidden in a cave :) Climb the tower,do not use the elevator,it is a positive experience to walk up stairs and tunnels that makes you wonder were you are after a while.Inside tower is a giant that was supposed to bee on top of tower but it did not make it to the final destination.View from the tower is extremly good of the central parts of Stockholm.Bring good walking shoes for climb of tower.Recomended Visit time about 90 minutes. Best:View from tower Worst:.I did not enter the blue hall, because it was a line and it cost money(it should bee free like the rådhus in the capital of Norway ,Oslo)

It was well an hour spent in the town hall. It is beautifully laid out structure. Courtyard in the centre is very impressive specially the name blue room has an interesting anecdote.
Golden room reminds one of glamour and glory of Sweden. I was mighty enchanted. Don't miss it.
