“Too good”

It was well an hour spent in the town hall. It is beautifully laid out structure. Courtyard in the centre is very impressive specially the name blue room has an interesting anecdote.
Golden room reminds one of glamour and glory of Sweden. I was mighty enchanted. Don't miss it.

“magnificent view of the city”
Reviewed June 27, 2013

The City hall itself is a very nice red brick building with lots of decorations and a garden down at the water which is worth a visit even without any additional activities (within easy walking distance of the main station).

The tour up the tower is one group at a time, all going up at the same time and then going down agian 30 minutes later. Some stairs up and some narrow walkways but you will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the city. Only 40 SEK pp (free with the Stockholm card).

Best enjoyed on a sunny day with good picture taking opportunities.

We were here for the Stockholm Criminology Symposium Award Presentation and Gala Dinner. I loved it. The setting was magnificent (presentation in Blue Room and Dinner in Gold Room). It was terrific to be invited to this event. the service and the food were great... especially when they served dessert!

“Great place but they charge for everything”
Reviewed June 25, 2013

The City Hall though somewhat out of the way is worth a visit if only for the courtyard and waterside gardens. The tower is worth a climb, which you will have to do even if you use the lift, for the views. Be wary that it involves walking round narrow corridors and tight staircases that would not be easy to negotiate if not that agile. The hall where they hold the Nobel banquet is a bit of a let down making a lot of gold look bland. Expect to pay for access to any internal parts of the City Hall though you can often wander in at the back of a tour group, but that would be naughty.

“Great short tour”

Very informative 45 minute tour that takes you through and explains the various rooms in the city hall, I enjoyed more than I thought I was going to.
