Of the 24 of us on the tour, only. 2 of us did this museum. I enjoyed this museum very much, it had so much to experience. I enjoyed the old shops from the end on the 19th century, and I learned much about the Sami people. The animals were in a natural habitat. There was even a wedding at one venue in the museum

I wouldn't say that Skansen is Stockhom's "top attraction," but it is definitely worth seeing. It would be good to pair this with the Vasa or the ABBA museum as they are fairly in close proximity of each other.

This open air museum is quite big, and it will take you hours to be able to see everything, so use your time wisely (if you're crunched for time that is.) We loved seeing the different animals--lynxes, owls, moose, deer--it was like a mini zoo. The scenery is actually quite beautiful, and at times, it feels as though you've stepped back in time. The old churches/estate homes are worth seeing. The theme park would be great for kids, as well as the different play areas.

The place was great, amazing, another must-see place with Vasa and Junibacken for child-soul people... Very fairy-tale, and with many open houses with replicas of old swedish houses and different kind of professions, a market, a pool, a picnic area, a zoo, an aquarium... it´s a wonderful place to spend a day with the kids or whatever...

This is a remarkable 75-acre open-air museum in Djuragarden; many of the buildings date from the 18th century and were moved to the site. You can see what an 1840s grocery store was like, or an 18th-century pharmacist's shop, and tour a 1930s-vintage hardware store. Maybe the best: the 1910-era schoolhouse, with classroom and teacherage. The interpreters are in costume and very fluent in English. And we saw only a fraction of the whole site. Highly recommended.

This outdoor air museum was really the perfect activity for a beautiful day. A lot of people walking around, but it wasn't ever too crowded as it's such a large area. The zoo and farmland areas were really nice too. We loved that a lot of Swedish families were walking around too, so it didn't feel like we were in a tourist trap (though the tourists were definitely present too). Just a really nice, relaxing walk.
