“Don't Judge a Palace by its Exterior”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2014

When I first saw the Swedish Royal Palace I wasn't that impressed. When I think of the word "palace" I generally think of a grand, flamboyant and luxurious structure but this palace seemed to blend right in with the rest of Stockholm. Aside from the the patrolling officers on guard outside, I was initially unimpressed with the palace.

This all changed when I toured the inside. Once inside the palace, I was able to view luxurious room after luxurious room, each one clearly belonging within a true palace. While I spent most of my time wandering around at my own pace, every once and awhile I joined up with a tour which was included with my ticket. My tour was in English but other languages were offered.

Overall a great experience and a great way to learn about the Swedish royal family.

“Huge”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2014

The Royal Palace is at Gamla, a small island in central Stockholm and Kungliga isn't beautiful only cause the architecture, but also the geographical position and the landscape. It is interesting to see the changing of the guard, it is really close to us. The museum is huge and has content for everyone. An homage to Brazilian Queen Silvia and the Real Family, they seems really friendly and dear. Love the exposition of 40 years of the kings reign.

“The changing of the guards.”

Really nice show to see as the guard is accompanied by a military band. Royal Palace is a very impressing piece of art, where you can see the crowns used in past by prince and princess.

“Very good and beautiful place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 16, 2014

The best part is - it consists of 3 parts:
1) The "modern" palace - residence of Kings and ect. The place to visit, to feel the royal spirit, the power of crown, the force of power! It is full of interesting and beautiful things, furniture, tapestries and sculptures;
2) The old stronghold - situated in the depth of catacomb of palace - the place, where you can almost feel the medival ages;
3) Treasury - this is the smallest part, but here you can see the crown of Swedish kings and queens. Just a wonderful place.

I liked this place a lot! And I want to get here once again =)

“The Royal Palace in Stockholm.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2014

The Royal Palace in Stockholm.

The Royal Palace is located in the city centre of Stockholm, and is a very nice place to visit.
It is the official residence of her Majesty the King.
The palace is designed by Nicodemus Tessin de Younger, and built in the Italian Baroque style.
The construction of it was completed in the year 1754, and is partly built on the remains of the former castle which had been destroyed by fire in the year 1697.
To visit Stockholm you can do this by Metro, by walking or with the “Hop on – Hop Off” busses.
