Me, my husband and a friend, traveling 27th April, 2013
As my plan to travel around Stockholm, this is the no. 1 place on my list.
We waiting to watch changing of the guards outside the palace almost 1 hr with many others tourist. ( in the cold ) but it worth!
If you have time perhaps you like to visit Treasure museum.
I didn't get in because I don't have a Stockholm card also don't want to spend 15 euro.
Don't miss it!!

We loved watching the changing of the guard outside the palace. The building itself is impressive, as are the state rooms. There is a Treasury, Museum and Armoury to see too.

No wonder the royals don't really live here anymore, so much of it is open to us tourists! Start with the Tres Kroner Museum so you can learn the history, this was what set this palace apart from all the others we've seen. After that, go tour the apartments & see the jewels..of which there aren't that many in there, unfortunately, and certainly not the tiaras you see in the photos of royalty now...

Alot to see, so if you are really interested prepare to spend many hours in the various museums. Watch out for the grumpy soldiers!

The tour groups were super annoying and wouldn't part to let people move past, so be aware that you'll have to fight your way through. It puts a bit of a damper on the experience, but the rooms are so magnificent that you'll get past it pretty quick! Make sure you read the signs because you get a lot of added information.
