This in a way is the Central Park of Stockholm as it is the largest park close to the city. At the same time it's a bit off side as you either take a ferry to it or a roundabout trip with a tram. Anyway it's large and partly wooded. It contains a number of major attractions in its western part (Skansen, Vasa ship, Amusement park Gröna Lund and others) and some famous galleries (Thielska and Waldemarsudde). It's an excellent place for strolling along the water. You can go for a couple of miles and take a but back when you're tired. Views at Stockholm harbour is great at the southern side.
