“Surprisingly good!”
Reviewed June 8, 2013

I stayed at Interhostel for a month whilst on a work contract. It was also my first experience in a hostel. The staff are very friendly, and accommodating when it came to needing the laundry service. The hostel itself was tidy, well priced, and was a good base for me. The wireless was free but at times a little hit & miss, and of course you are reliant on your roommates manners as far as sleeping (couple of nights I had some noisy people coming into the room at 2am while I was sleeping!) but on the whole I would do it again.

Room Tip: Better to pay a little extra to share with less people. Also not all rooms have windows so it may be...

This was the most disgusting receptionists I have ever met! The receptionists were really unfriendly, impolite, arrogant, sulky, aggressive, disrespectful, to name a few! Though I booked this hotel, I canceled the reservation on arrival as I hated to stay with such a mannerless staff. They should not work at the front desk but at the isolate place where there is no contact with the customers. These ladies are the real obstacles to this hostel which is located at the center of the city. They should be fired and gone away: Otherwise a lot of travelers who came over to Sweden will suffer from frustration from the first day. It is wise not to choose this hotel until they disappear.

It was the cheapest hostel I found in Stockholm so I don't expected beru much but I was really suprised. It is in the very good location in the center of Stockholm. The staff is helpful and friendly, the rooms are typical like in many hostel but they are useful and clean. Bathrooms are also very clean. Very nice kitchen room with everything you need. There is a free WI-FI in whole builiding and two computers in the patio to use for everyone. I will recomend this hostel for everyone :)

Stayed for the first 2 nights, the hostel only plus side is its central location. The rooms were so crowded and very unpleasant, you can hear the noise coming from other rooms. There are no windows, it literally felt like prison!!! Too hot, no air, the showers were ok, the kitchen was pathetically small, and with the crowds of people crammed into tiny rooms you can only dream of preparing your own meal! Best go to City BackPackers Hostel, if you are after the 'backpacking' experience.

Room Tip: Not worth your time and money!

Highly recommend this hostel for anyone who is looking for an active place to meet people, a usable kitchen, a central location, and a clean living area.

The Bad:

- Kitchen area was usually full with people, especially during dinner hours.
- The seating areas were usually full near the kitchen area.
- Linens cost money, which I didn't expect to pay.
- WiFi was infrequent in my room and in the corner of the kitchen sitting area.
- Some of the girls said their two person room had no window, which is a safety hazard.

The Good:
- We were upgraded from a 14-person room to an 8-person room free of charge without asking.
- The interior walls and hallways were well decorated and had a very comfortable feel to them.
- Plenty of areas to sit in the halls, including tables to do work on.
- The rooms had lockers that fit my backpack and accessories for safekeeping.
- The location was within walking distance to much of Stockholm, including Gamla Stan and the shopping / nightlife scene.
- The women at the desk were friendly and helpful.
- The beds were comfortable and the outlets were above the back of the beds, for easy access.
- The men's showers were adequate and supplied soap in each of the 8 stalls.
- The hostel was clean, and the kitchen area was usually kept clean.
- Plenty of storage space in the 4 refrigerators they had for all the guests.

Room Tip: The 8 person room was adequate in space and size. The walls are thick and I doubt you will hear peop...

I stayed here for 3 nights whilst travelling with friends and found the hostel to be pretty good. The rooms were clean, and despite what other people have said, I found the beds and linen to be clean as well (although it's worth noting that linen wasn't included in the price). The only problem with the bedrooms was that they were quite small, with not much space between the beds. Realistically though this wasn't much of a problem, it was just a little annoying when trying to get things out of the lockers.

The kitchen was well equipped, plenty of plates, glasses, pots, pans etc and we felt able to cook meals there despite the hobs being a little basic. I found the staff friendly, the only problem we had was when some of our friends wanted to cancel their room as they had found somewhere else to stay. They went to the reception at around 5pm and had been due to arrive at the hostel around 4pm the next day. They were told that because they had given less than 24 hours notice they would still be charged for the room. I found this a little harsh (it was only just less than 24 hours notice after all!) But I do understand that that was their business policy.

And of course, as everyone else has mentioned, the best thing about this hostel was the location. Being only a 5 minute walk from the main station, with the buses to and from the airport, it really was perfect. It was also right next to the main shopping area, bars, restaurants etc. For this reason alone I would say that the hostel is worth the money!

My friend and I booked really cheap flights to Stockholm but when it came to finding hotels, they were much more expensive than even Western Europe standards (and I live in central London), so we decided to stay here for one night.

It does exactly what it says on the tin -no frills, clean, with wifi in a hostel environment so you have the option of meeting people from all over the world. But the location is excellent - you're one street away from the main street in Stockholm which is a lovely walk right into Gamla Stan - the old town.

It was actually cheaper for us to book a cruise to Latvia (Finland, Estonia also available) and sleep 2 nights on there and see elsewhere than stay in a hostel in Stockholm. And so much more fun too!! Riga, the capital of Latvia was much more enjoyable than Stockholm and cos its so near you might as well fit it into a trip! See tallink.com for ferry links.

Room Tip: They charge you 10 Euros each for bedsheets!!
