This was by far my favourite part of visiting Stockholm from an artistic perspective. This is a world class gallery with outstanding exhibitions. Not only does it have amazing photography, but also organises guest speaker events, photography classes, and has a cafe on top with an amazing view. Even better it is open very late unlike most other attractions. I highly recommend this even if you aren't the most avid photography lover.

This museum only has temporary exhibitions, a few at a time. There is therefore a part of luck on how much you will enjoy it.

In my experience, I have always found something to make me think or even make me stick there for a couple of hours.

At the very least, you will enjoy the view from the cafe.
Added bonus, it closes 21.00 or 22.00 on weekends.

This gallery in on the cutting edge of contemporary photography. The exhibitions that were on at the time were brilliantly curated and we came away moved by some of the work we had seen. We have found ourselves still discussing various aspects even days after. There is a great free locker system so you don't carry bags and coats around, excellent shop (if a little expensive) and helpful pleasant staff all around. One of the best things to do in Stockholm, but leave at least 3 hours to visit.

It's a bit out of the way to find but once there it is a good photographic exhibition space with many different exhibitions on at the same time. It's quite small so doesn't take too long to get round and the views from the cafe at the top are great.

Exhibits change frequently, you may not like them all, but there is always something interesting and worth seeing. Some photos may haunt your memory for quite a long while. Location close to the Finland ferries' terminal is excellent if you are on a cruise from Helsinki to Stockholm and back. The building is small enough to cover in a couple of hours and you avoid the "museum poisoning" of the large museums.
