Interesting exhibitions and a great café. Make time for the museum shop. It's well stocked with interesting books and great souvenirs.

It is some 10 mins walk from the metro station. But it's worth it. The cafe shop has wide windows making the picturesque seaview very enjoyable.

The exhibitions are well narrated with interviews of the photographers; bearing some of their personal background & work details. For those shown during my visit, there was a balanced mix of photographers (Sally Mann, Strindberg) but nothing too technical. Since exhibits change quite frequently, make sure to check their website on the exhibit details before you go.

The museum shop is also quite nice; but certain books may be out of stock easily.

Obviously a bit up itself - and why not? As it boasts - the largest gallery space dedicated to contemporay photography in Europe. Also wonderful views from the cafe on the top floor. Good expo in October/November of Christolph Stolholm - his pics of freaks and trannies have loads more empathy than Diane Arbus for example. Huge range of photography books in its shop. Get off the bus as soon as you cross the bridge from Gamla Stan and walk along the quayside.

We really looked forward to this museum and views from the restaurant. The views from the cafe lived up to expectations but the exhibits didn't quite hit the spot. We put it down to the exhibitions that were during our visit as some of the posters for others we reallyl liked the look of

We visited this museum because not many others were open on a Monday. However, we were not disappointed.
We saw a lot of work by Christer Strömholm - photographs, artefacts, film interviews etc. There was also work by other leading photographers.
The place was a bit awkward to get to and I was surprised it was so busy on a Monday morning out of holiday season. The nearest tunnelbana stop is Slussen. It is about a 15 minutes walk from this stop.
The top floor had a lovely restaurant with great views and places to chill out and read books. The place also had lifts and a gift shop.
