“A hidden secret”

The location of Drottning Victoria's Orlogshem is fantastic. You can not find a more central hotel in the capital of Sweden at this affordable price with this service. The only issue is to find it. You have to look for a small brass plate on the door. No big neon signs, thanks god. The service is great, very friendly. The rooms are big and the beds are very comfortable. A small breakfast is included in spite of the very reasonable price.
Try to find this hotel, the search is well worth the effort.

The hotel is situated in the middle of Stockholm, and in walking distance to Gamla Stan, Söder and city centre. From my room I overwieved Nybroviken, leaning somewhat out of the window. The room was nice, with elements from the Swedish navy. The receptionists were serviceminded, but failed to fix the wifi. The breakfast room is little, so coming early is recommendable if you want a table alone. The hotel and Walmans salonger are part of the same building, and the music was a shocking experience in the night.

Cannot beat the location, smack in the centre of downtown Stockholm, a short walk from the old town and principal attractions as well as from various other funky and interesting neighbourhoods. The staff were all young, friendly and helpful, and spoke perfect English. Their restaurant recommendations were very good. The room, on the fifth floor, overlooking the street, was spacious and comfortable, with lots of light, a large state-of-the-art TV, hairdryer, good WIFI connection, and plenty of hanging space. The bathroom was spotless. The bed was comfortable, although the mattress was a tad too soft for our liking. Breakfast was perfectly adequate, cold cuts, vegetables, pate, bread, crackers, jam, marmalade, etc. We had looked at various hotels before choosing this one, and you can't beat the price. It was our first visit to Stockholm and we fell in love with the city. Our stay at this warm and comfortable hotel certainly contributed to the good impression. We would definitely stay here on a future visit to Sweden.

Really not easy to find something affordable in the expensive city of Stockholm; but thanks Tripadvisors' reviews we finally decided to choose this hotel. And it was the best decision ever! Centrally located, very kind staff, clean and spacious rooms, comfortable bed, original decoration of the floors and rooms - very navy oriented; simple but good breakfast and this for an amazing rate: for 3 nights we paid the rate of 1 night in another hotel of the city. (and I ve checked at least 10 hotels!!). The night was almost quite as I think that the disco has been closed... we have been disturb only.....by seagulls !!! :-)

The location cant be beat - nearly every site of interest can be reached on foot. If you dont want to walk, the metro station is just around the corner.
The maritime flair of the hotel is very nice, but not overdone.
We had rooms on the 4th floor, overlooking the yard. The rooms were very quiet, we did not hear a noise from the surrounding rooms or the surrounding buildings, not even from Wallmans.
The room was big enough (3-bed-room with twin beds, enough room to store our luggage and still move freely) with an anteroom for additional storage. The bath room was nice and clean.
Breakfast was ok, nothing special.
The price was extremely fair. We booked in winter, so they gave us a reservation for winter prices (which we did not know by then). When we paid, they switched to summer prices (much cheaper!) without being asked! A pleasant surprise.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
I would recommend this hotel to everyone who does not expect exurberant luxury or at least 5 cheeses for breakfast.

I thought this place was great for the price and I would definitely return. It is in a pretty central location with pleasant walks to the VASA museum, Gamla Stan and other locations of interest. The rooms were very clean and the shower was excellent, breakfast was decent, and i really liked the maritime theme which was beautifully done so you had the feeling of walking round the corridors of a ship. I stayed Friday/ Saturday and as others note you can hear a nightclub. I had a room for £60 which was the cheapest option and they warned me to bring ear plugs so I fully expected the worst. I was pleasantly surprised. Yes you can hear the club but I did not find it too bad for sleeping just not perfect silence.
All in all I was very happy with my experience and would stay again if I wanted to keep the cost of accommodation down. I have now stayed in five hotels in Stockholm and would rate this pretty highly. The ones on the top of my list were both more expensive.
