“great for the price!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2013

I thought this place was great for the price and I would definitely return. It is in a pretty central location with pleasant walks to the VASA museum, Gamla Stan and other locations of interest. The rooms were very clean and the shower was excellent, breakfast was decent, and i really liked the maritime theme which was beautifully done so you had the feeling of walking round the corridors of a ship. I stayed Friday/ Saturday and as others note you can hear a nightclub. I had a room for £60 which was the cheapest option and they warned me to bring ear plugs so I fully expected the worst. I was pleasantly surprised. Yes you can hear the club but I did not find it too bad for sleeping just not perfect silence.
All in all I was very happy with my experience and would stay again if I wanted to keep the cost of accommodation down. I have now stayed in five hotels in Stockholm and would rate this pretty highly. The ones on the top of my list were both more expensive.

My husband and I stayed for two nights (a Saturday and Sunday). I guess i'd sum it like this:

Plus points:
1) amazing location - very central to old town and museums
2) not too expensive given its location (we paid £100 a night)
3) rooms clean and the shower was lovely
4) the breakfast was plentiful but nothing special

Negative points:
1) it's right next to a nightclub and on Saturday this was in full swing. Even though we were on the 4th floor by 10pm there was banging house music everywhere! We asked the receptionist when it stopped and he just shrugged and said 3am. Thank god I had my ear plugs with me!

2) the staff aren't particularly friendly - i don't think the receptionists ever said hello to us even on entering/leaving the hotel... as it happens, we don't mind that so much but if you're expecting friendly service then you're out of luck...

3) the beds are comfortable but they are two singles shoved together so not really double beds...

Stayed two weeks at the Hotel.
Excellent staff
Basic but very clean rooms
Great shower and bathroom
Fantastic brakfast
What more could you possibly ask for? Easy access to the city centre and party places nearby. But still nice and quiet and no through traffic, which allowed me to sleep with an open window.

the hotel has a "nice" maritime design (but very basic)and offers a friendly service and a good brekfast, the only really negative thing is the bar in the ground floor which at xmas time closed at 1 AM and was so loud that even in the upper floors it was impossible to sleep

Room Tip: try to get a room facing the court -a little bit less noisy

We really enjoyed our stay at the Drottning. Our rooms were more spacious than we expected and the whole place is very charming. The location can't be beat - right near the Grand Hotel and walking distance to the old town and all the museums.

Room Tip: ask for a room on the upper floor because there is a nightclub next door.

If you want basic accommodations for an affordable price this is for you.

The location is also ideal. It is on a small peninsula on a quiet side street. It is a short distance from Old Town, as well as one of the ports where the many boat tours depart from. Many restaurants and pubs are also close by.

The breakfast is OK, but that could be said for a lot of hotels in Europe.

The hotel staff is helpful in answering any questions you may have. We were in room 413 which is pretty much standard sized for Europe. The decor is not fancy, but is certainly acceptable.

Overall, this is definitely a good value.

Terrific location in Teatergatan in the centre of Blasieholmen, between the Grand and Radisson SAS Stand hotels, near the National Museum. Rooms are large and comfortable, if a little austere, but everything (heating, hot water etc.) works perfectly. Breakfast buffet is good, though simple by Stockholm standards. Rates are low compared to other hotels in central Stockholm. This is a hotel built for the Swedish Navy in 1908, so it's quite a privilege for non-Swedes to be able to stay there!

P.S. Hello Trip Advisor, shouldn't this be in the hotel section? Also note the short name is Örlogshotellet (with an umlaut), the long name is Stiftelsen Drottning Victorias Örlogshem which means 'Queen Victoria's Seamen's Home'. The website is www.orlogshotellet.com.
