“Enjoyable stay”
Reviewed January 7, 2014

My girl and I stayed here for a few days while visiting Stockholm for a wedding.
The hotel (including the gym) felt very modern and clean. One interesting thing we learned in Sweden is how clean their tap water is, which we drank in the gym and in our room during our stay with no side effects.

The breakfast selection was great, and I would definitely recommend you add this to your room package. The dinner options were a bit limited. Our bartender (19 year old kid) was fantastic and we spent a lot more money at the bar than we planned with no regrets!

The walk to the nearest train station takes about 10 minutes which is no fun in the colder months, so we took a taxi whenever we headed downtown, but usually took the train on return.
Transportation to the hotel is great! Even traveling with luggage we were able to take a shuttle from the airport, then a train and walk to our hotel. All, without knowing the language.

We stayed as a couple over new years 2013/2014 for seven nights.
The staff were very welcoming, helpful and were able to cater to any of our needs or queries.

The whole hotel was very stylish, clean and modern (particularly applicable to the room itself).

The hotel is located in a residential area around a 30 minute walk from all the major areas of Stockholm, however it has many amenities in the surrounding area (Supermarket, Metro access,.... McDonalds :) )

I recommend getting the breakfast add-on as it is very convenient, tasty and varied - plus saves you from having to spend money on expensive meals out during the day.

My only qualm would be the internet access available at the hotel. There is free wired access (on a slow connection) which is suitable for urgent access, however WiFi access / regular speed internet connection is a costly add-on. It's now 2014 and I strongly feel that additions like this should become part of the package, not just an after-thought.

I fully recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in Stockholm, we had a fantastic time and loved our stay!

It offers the usual high standard of a Marriott it is close to the center (preferably with taxi or public transport a bit too far to walk in the winter months) and has great service and food both for breakfast and lunch/dinner. It still feels new which is a plus.

Located a nice 25 minutes walk from the city center, but on a nice walking area near the water, with a view at Stockholm. There's also a subway station nearby the hotel, so it's possible to get in the center by subway. Rooms are comfortable, with good beds. Unfortunately, no bathtube. Breakfast is excellent, with a big variety of food and drinks. Staff is friendly. WiFi signal is good.

I think in Stockholm one of the best price-quality combination, as many of the hotels are high priced.

A stylish place, close to the centre of town, with a friendly Swedish smile!

While hotels like Marriott have s fairly standard style and appearance, this particular one stands out. The staff make all the difference. Friendly, helpful and with complete information. The location is very convenient, being close to the centre and accessible by the metro system (a short walk from either Fridhemsplan or Thorildsplan as the hotel is right between these two stops). A sauna or pool would have been nice, but otherwise it's fantastic.

Room Tip: All rooms are good and well insulated. Large glass windows! Better views on the front side of the ho...

We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Stockholm in December '13. The hotel is a short walk from St Eriksplan bus station which which is the final stop from Arlanda Airport before Stockholm Central (which is probs a bit far to walk). Excellent staff, lovely room, great breakfast and beautiful location. Lot's of great places to eat and drink nearby and the closest tube stop (Tbana) is Fridhemsplan which is 2 stops to Central, takes approx 5mins. Very much recommend Vasa Museum, Gamla Stan, Ice skating in Kungstradgarden, Berns nightclub and that you try and cover as much of the city on foot as poss. Don't bother with Ice Bar, overpriced, boring, uncomfortable and more like a run down bar with blocks of Ice inside, rather than a bar made of Ice. Rest of Stockholm and Courtyard Marriott - amazing!!

We recently stayed for two nights to celebrate my wife's birthday and were really pleased that we chose this hotel.

Although only a basic room it was far better than almost every other hotel room we have stayed in. The room was large and comfortable and the bed was huge. Despite the hotel being right by a main road we could not hear the traffic noise at all. It was well equipped with multi-lingual television, tea and coffee making facilities (which are often not present in continental European hotels), iron and ironing board. The safe in the room was easy to use with clear instructions. The only small point was that there was only a shower and no bath, but that did not matter to us for 2 nights.

We found the reception staff to be pleasant and most helpful. The food in the restaurant was very good and whilst not cheap was no more expensive than anywhere else in Stockholm.

The hotel is situated a little way from the centre, however we found the location to be very good. It is a pleasant 20 minute walk along the waterfront to the city hall. There are 2 tunnelbana (metro) stations within a short walk, the nearer being Thorildsplan on the green line and the next nearest being Fridhemsplan on both the green and blue lines. Around Fridhemsplan are a number of shops, supermarkets, restaurants and cafes.

We found the best way to reach the hotel from the airport was to take the commuter train (pendeltag) to Karlberg, make the short walk to S:t Eriksplan then it is only 2 stops to Thorildsplan. The travel planner on the SL (Stockholm local transport) website is most helpful.
