Description: Mornington Restaurant & Bar is a part of the Mornington Hotel in the Östermalm district of Stockholm. It's a popular meeting place for both hotel guests and locals. The lounge often has exciting exhibitions and in the dining room you can choose between dishes from a varied menu with international influences. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and you can also come for a coffee, afternoon tea or something a little stronger in the evening. There's also fine outdoor seating which can be enjoyed weather permitting.

“Horrible Halibut”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

Nice waiter doing her best, but the chef was obviously heading home for the evening. (We ate pretty late.)
Fisk was tasteless and dry, the broth looked like dishwasher-water, and the rice or whatever it was - was coocked beyond recognition.
Rest of the food OK, wines as well.

“Value for guests staying in the hotel”
Reviewed September 29, 2012

Menu not very exciting but well cooked and adequate quantity. Very good value for money on DB&B deal for executive room. Cost was £100 more for a 4 night stay but for two peole to have a two course meal with coffee at any restaurant would have cost at least twice as much.

“Good food not very good hence the average rating”
Reviewed September 13, 2012

We ate in the restaurant twice during a recent stay. I would say the food was a little pricey, tasty and efficiently served. My husband lvoed one of the dishes that then got culled the next day so he could not have it again and he was disappointed. It's not a loarge menu so if you have specific dietary needs you might have even less choice. I don't so could choose from a range of options. Nicely presented, nicely cooked, friendly, efficient service. The wine is pricey but that seems to be the norm and will increase the amount of money you spend on the overall bill. We also did not have a starter or a desert. If you are a big eater be prepared for a large bill. I would eat there again though.

“True, it's not bad at all - but neither good...”
Reviewed September 11, 2012

Whilst the Mornington Restaurant&Bar is certainly far from being your typical standard hotel restaurant, the judgment resembles the one applicable to most hotel restaurants: You cannot go wrong with this restaurant - the upside, however, is rather limited as well.

My starter - Lobster Bisque - was definitely a nonstarter, the soup tasted like a mushroom soup; the lobster was not discernible at all. Luckily, the Quinoa Sald with salmon and Humus was way better, all of the ingredients tasted really fresh and created an agreable aroma mixture.

The service was really friendly - as far as the ambiente is concerned, I have to admit that I am not overly fond of the canteen-style approach often found in Scandinavia.
The price level should be ok for Stockholm - compared to the price levels in other European countries the price/performance ratio is just ridiculous, though...

“Not bad at all”
Reviewed August 10, 2012

First it seems to be a normal restaurant at the hotel. There is not much food to choose. But we had a roasted solomon with vegetable salad and it was realy delicious. Some lime and one other dip. Fresh fish, good service ... I was satisfied. Good luck to any other guests.
