“Great boutique hotel in Stockholm”
Reviewed December 8, 2013

Really enjoyed our stay in this comfortable hotel. Quiet position out of centre but only 10 to 15 minutes to Underground and central sights. We had a larger room and were upgraded to sea view even though we arrived very late .
Breakfast was excellent with lovely Swedish breads.
Room spacious and stylish. Comfy bed.
Close to ferry stop to hop on to cross the bay to old town etc.
Would stay here again if we revisit.

Room Tip: Ask for second block as first block on ground floor has a lot of people using corridor to get to rec...

Thanks to TripAdvisor I've found out about this place, had to make a quick stop on the way to the US and this was the best Hotel I've ever stayed in.

Clean, Organized, Great staff, Quiet. These guys can teach some of the biggest Hotel chains how it should be done
*5 !

Room Tip: Junior suite is just marvelous!

A great peaceful place in the middle of Stockholm. I stayed here when it first opened almost 4(?) years ago, and it is still very excellent. Great beds, great bathrooms, good TVs, excellent breakfasts, brilliant staff.

I was intending to stay next week, but now heading elsewhere as in the middle of November it really is just that bit too far out.

Excellent stay from beginning to end. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff - information, bookings and wonderful food at breakfast and the 2 meals we had in restaurant. Price and quality of the hotel and food was just right. Sweden, like all Scandinavian countries, is expensive but if you are careful - and walk around Stockholm you can enjoy the city without breaking the bank. Highly recommend a visit to the VASSA museum - we spent a whole morning there - absolutely exhausted with the information and exhibits - but what a place. If you are into different museums this is for you. It is an amazing place.

We had a superior room, on the top floor, overlooking the harbour - beautiful setting, especially at night. Much appreciated our free up-grade.

Room Tip: We were up-graded to superior room - on the top floor with great views over the harbour;

Just got back (last week of November). Top notch place, homey, views, lots of warmly lit and welcoming spaces to sit and chat or eat. They won me over with the champagne every time I sat in the restaurant or sitting areas! Booked a junior suite over the internet, was everything that was promised. The kids (young staff) there are super friendly, and know their stuff about Stockholm, and how to get from A to B. I walked to Gamla Stan and to other locales easily from there. The number 65 bus works well too. Museums very close by, and they are a fun part of staying in this part of town as well. Restaurant is not a "10" but the ambiance and convenience if you'd rather not go out is still a very good option. Fitness center small but state of the art new equipment. Must be heavenly in the summer months. A can't miss place in quality, location, and personnel.

Room Tip: Face the front, toward the water. Outstanding.

Dear Guest,

Thank you so much for this lovely review!

Very glad to read that you enjoyed everything from our location, our quality to the service from my team.

As " exotic " Stockholm is during winter season with the darkness and snow our stunning location summer time is really quite heavenly as you write. We are the only city hotel during spring and summer were you can actually go down and have a swim in the morning, play tennis on our out door tennis court, founded by King Oscar II year 1882 and where you eat breakfast, lunch and dinner on our terrace and garden.

Looking forward to welcome you back soon again

This small hotel next to the Museum of Modern Art is typically Swedish with small rooms and efficient usage of space. Great location; the staff were very helpful in booking dinner reservations at the trendiest restaurants. Very good breakfasts & evening meals (shellfish soup was fabulous!).
2 comments that were less positive: the minute breakfast was officially finished the cleaner started hoovering round our feet! And as it's an eco-hotel the rooms & en-suite bathrooms are small.
Good value in a very expensive city though!

Room Tip: We stayed in 268 with a view over the water

I keep coming back to this hotel.
I have stayed at Grand, Lydmar, Nobis, Hotel J, and all, but this last weekend was my 8th stay at Hotel Skeppsholmen. Surely, you will find some "lacks", like a decent minibar, but its absolutely minor to all the pros.
- The service is great. Both at the reception as well as in the restaurant.
- The location is the best. You can't help blinking your eyes everytime you walk over the "Skeppsholmbron". Stop up and you will experience the best way to see Stockholm. And the tranquility, just 3 mins walk from downtown is amazing and you will feel it.
You will find yourself at home. The guests are representative of all people. So you can stay with great comfort as a couple as well as a single person, indeed as a family.
Dont miss out on all the great places in Stockholm.
What I love is seeing the city, have a drink/tea at Grand or Lydmar, shop and eat and experience to go "home" to Hotel Skeppsholmen.
I look so much forward to my 9th stay at home....at Hotel Skeppsholmen.
