Stayed for 2 nights on a company conference organised there.

Strange architecture when you first arrive, but when they explained it used to be an army barracks, it made sense.

Excellent breakfast and dinner, food of very high quality.

The hotel is a bit isolated from the center of Stockholm, but worth choosing it because of its design and food.

Staff also extra friendly and efficient.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to write this review!
What a lovely review to receive this rainy Thursday!
Yes we have a amazing history in these buildings from 1699 and they are on the Swedish Governments top 100 list so very happy that we were able to convert the buildings in to a Swedish lifestyle Hotel.
I hope you will visit us again and then we can inform you that it takes only 5 minutes walk to the city centre by foot, or you can take the ferry or boat.
Glad to hear you kind words about my great team.
Best and looking forward to welcome you back to Stockholm!

Wonderful situation, surrounded by trees, museums and water. Almost no traffic, no shops, glorious. One minute walk to ferry and bus - both every 20 mins.
It's a must to buy transport card (from Metro) in advance as all day cards can't be bought on ferry/bus and prices then lethal. Stockholm card does not cover ferries so not great for this hotel where ferry is best option. Preferred transport card and cherry picking sight seeing.

Room a little bare, lighting not great but peaceful, clean, stylish and worth paying extra for the sea views and the top floor. Imagine ground floor noisy as long, long corridor with banging external doors.
Breakfast excellent. Expressos/capuccinos no extra charge. Wonderful crispy bacon and gravadlax. Staff all charming and helpful. Restaurant good. Relaxed atmosphere throughout.
Only downside is cost of taxis into city. And costs of city generally! But that's Scandanavia.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for taking the time to write this review!
I can only agree, we have a stunning location in the city center and, you can walk to the mainland, take a ferry or the bus that stops just in front of the hotel.
We are working on the lightning and glad you felt the rooms as clean and stylish.
I will pass on your kind’s words about my team.

Best and looking forward to welcome you back to Stockholm in the near future.

Second time around!

This was our second stay at Hotel Skeppsholmen this year. It is always with a little bit of trepidation that you stay at a hotel for the second time; especially when the first visit was above par. You wonder if it was a fluke, or if the Hotel actually excels on a daily basis. I had no need to worry! Coming from overseas (the U.S.) we had requested an early check-in knowing in advance that the hotel was booked solid. We had also requested Waterview; there's nothing like waking up in the morning and looking out/sea. Both were granted! As soon as the former occupants of "our room" checked out and the room was cleaned, we were able to lock our door before 12noon, which was much appreciated. Once again the room was beautifully decorated. It's Scandinavian Design; clean lines and white walls! Again it made me appreciate that the hotel was able to maintain it's "old charm" and incorporate the new so easily. It doesn't feel forced, but rather feels like "this is how it should be". We were on the first floor this time (second floor the previous visit) and the view was spectacular. We would come home after dark and look out at all the lights. Our bed was facing the window so even when you rested, you still had the view. The hotel has a full-service restaurant, and it offers a great breakfast buffet to start your day. It has a little bit of everything and should cater to the most finicky eater. It offers the standard, but also includes some swedish delicacies like salmon and cloud berry jam. The lunch and dinner is always excellent. Again, there are swedish dishes, and even the more traditional dishes have a "swedish twist". All our meals have always been cooked to perfection, the service is excellent and the views are breathtaking. The hotel has everything that we look for in a hotel. It has history and charm, modern ammenities and good food, excellent service and, it's quiet! You have a short walk over the bridge and you're in the midst of Stockholm, but once you cross the bridge again, it feels like you're in a different place all together. It's peaceful and pretty, and you literally feel yourself "de-stress" as you walk around on the island. The staff was wonderful! Helpful, kind and treated us like family. We don't like to feel like standard guests that "just check-in and check-out"; we can always pick one of the bigger name hotels for that. We like the more informal version, where we are in a more relaxed atmosphere. It makes our stay less "hotelly" and more like a friendly visit. As after the previous visit, my husband proclaimed once again that he would always stay at Hotel Skeppsholmen when visiting Stockholm. For somebody who has to work while traveling, the hotel offers the calm and peace in between! It's location is perfect! It's peaceful and offers great food, the front desk and staff are helpful, and you are within walking distance to everything. What more can you ask for?

Just returned from 5 nights at the Hotel Skeppsholmen. Wanted a quiet location close to the town centre and we were delighted with our stay. Very pleasant 10 minute walk into the town centre and 15 minutes to Gamla Stan. The rooms are small but practical, the service fantastic and the meals great value (especially love the breakfast).

Thanks to all the staff that made our stay in Stocholm a memorable experience.

Just want to say that this hotel has it all: atmosphere, peacefull and beautiful location, walking distance to all important sights and shopping places, modern design, comfortable rooms and delicious food. Must admit that I do not know a thing about the price level, however, as my stay this week was paid by the organizer of a conference. But, I would love to return with my family!
