This is a very good place to have fisch in Stockholm. There are a lot of very good fisch meals to choose from. My favorite dish is Bergtunga Meniure. I Always drink beer but you can ofcource have wine also.

Melanders Fisk has been around for a while and this seafood restaurant has the distinct advantage of being located by its own fish and shellfish stand right in one of Stockholm's two indoor markets. Dishes here are not cheap, in fact, they are questionably high, considering that Melanders has its own substantial wholesale fish business and supply chain and a stand right next door. People who eat here are typically Swedes born in the early 40s who were lucky to get generous pensions before they were phased out. You can see them typically on a Friday afternoon, sipping their glasses of white wine, and ordering meals that certainly cost more than a 100 dollars apiece. At Melanders' the staff might show an interest in you if you're lucky. Melanders' portions are not good-size, in accordance with a place that attempts to pass itself off as super-gourmet and a little snobby. The furnishings are definitely not in line with the prices. Your meal will taste good, but there are other fish restaurants offering a better atmosphere for your money. The location in the market is busy, with all the noise and flow of people that an indoor market tends to have. In summary, Melanders uses quality ingredients, serves good food backed by indifferent service, and tends to be like any other fish restaurant in Stockholm: pricey, supercilious and making you feel a little ripped off afterwards.

The fish was fantastic, and the cardamon creme brûlée was delicious, but our waiter was extremely rude. We weren't told that we had to be finished by a certain time (7pm!), he did not check if we wanted more drinks (our glasses were empty for at least 30 minutes), and when we asked for dessert he made out that it was a major inconvenience! There were still many other people in the restaurant when we left so it was not like we were holding them up!

Not only was the meal perfect but the service as well .I just wish you would get a vegetable included as only potatoes come with your entree , as the prices seem a bit high in such a casual place. The restaurant is in a mall with a very open feeling .We liked that it wasn't a tourist place . Plan on spending at least 75-80 dollars for a dinner .Mall closes at 7 on Sunday night ,but it is a breath taking beautiful place (food only ) . Not a kid restaurant . We ate everything on our plates,it was soooooo good . My husband gave his fish a 10 ,and he is really fussy !

I didn't catch the name of this place the first time I ate here. Then, I spent the next year trying to remember where it was and what the name was because the toast skagen was so great. I was dying to have it again. We asked everyone in Sweden and finally figured it out. We went back twice in June and it was just as good. Great toast skagen, lovely ambience and excellent people watching.
