This little cosy restaurant isn't very central in Stockholm, but just a block away from Time Hotel on Vanadisvägen.
Me and a friend had dinner at Asteria and, since the place looks like it hasn't been changed for 15 years inteior-wise, we weren't expecting anything out of the ordinary. Also, The prices indicated something like a tourist trap and we were expecting the worst. But, boy, were we pleasantly surprised!
The focus of Asteria is on greek food, but we didn't try any of that. Instead we went for the meat dishes on the menu. The "Plankstek" (Steak on a plank) was tender indeed and cutting through the file mignon Nobis was like cutting through butter.
To this we had a nice chianti and this was also, for a restaurant in Stockholm, priced very reasonable.
It was as they say, "don't judge a book by it's cover". This little hidden gem in Stockholm may not look very inviting from the outside, but it's a nice and intimate restaurant where the food is excellent.
