“Get away from the tourist crowds”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

A lovely place eved by nice people at a reasonable price. If you just want a soup, or try the best Swedish meatballs in town. Their plank steak, beef or salmon is great. Not pressured, they have multilinguai student staff overseen by a professionl restauranteur. Make sure you visit the old crypt.

“Rudeness at no extra cost”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

The food was good, but nothing special, though a little expensive due to the location of the Restaurant.

We had been taken out for lunch by some American relations while we were in Stockholm and when it came time for them to pay, a US issued American Express card was offered. Chip and PIN is not used in USA, so US issued Amex cards do not have a chip on them, requiring only a signature to complete the transaction. In the absence of a chip, terminals usually print out a slip to be signed, but the restaurant’s card terminal could not accept the unchipped card and required authentication from American Express. The manager point blank refused to phone them saying he was too busy. He ranted on about how American Express needed him and not the other way around and told us to go to an ATM to get cash, which without a PIN was not possible either. This created a very embarrassing situation for our relatives and in the end we had to pay the bill for them with.

On the door there was a sticker saying that they take American Express. We later phoned American Express to complain and they verified that there was nothing wrong with the card and that all that the restaurant had to do was phone for authorisation.

“Great atmosphere”
Reviewed June 15, 2013

THis is just a great place to go and eat. Fabulous location nestled in a small street on Gamla Stan between Palace and the cathedral and 30 metres away fron the Square.

The food is lovely, bot gourmet, but very Swedish. The atmosphere is amazing. Do yourself a favour and eat downstairs below the 14th Century arches where tunnels connected between the Palace and the Cathedral. Great story; get Gianni to tell you.

Not a comprehensive wine list but overall, it's a cool place to eat. We went there twice, as a couple and as a group where we had a private room downstairs. Lover it!!

“Nice meatballs”
Reviewed June 3, 2013

We went there twice, once with the tour group and once on our own. On both occassions, the service was superb, we really liked the meatballs. Would recommend it.

“Great location, great food, good value”

Loved the goulash soup at lunchtime when the weather was very cold. Plankstek and reindeer steak in the evening excellent. Staff so friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
