We came across this small restaurant accidentally when we were looking for a place to dine in the old town. It's in a tiny narrow street. The place is somewhat 300 years old and the interior was kept the same for a long time. The menu only consists of several basic dishes and a couple of desserts, but every single piece is worth paying for. Apart from reindeer and wild boar steaks, we tried mushroom soup and deer soup, everything tasted absolutely amazing. And it was very quiet and peaceful, we were the only guests there!

You know it is bad when you are waiting for your food and you can hear the microwave humming and dinging when the food is ready.
The vegatables were undercooked, the meat was over cooked. The sauce was just horrible.

Don't ever go here it is just horrible and a waste of money.

After wandering for some time at the hundreds of places to eat in Old Town. We decided to check out CC for it's local fayre.

We weren't disappointed. I can say that the Reindeer I had (which is the same dish as the photo someone else has posted) was among the greatest meals I've ever had if not th greatest. Why? Because all the ingredients were fresh and done to absolutely texture and flavour perfection. With no overelaboration or everything on the plate complimented the dish exquisitely, right down to the sprig of fresh thyme which balanced the medium rare melty reindeer so well.

The Mariestad beer to accompany was a full flavoured not too bitter golden brown ale that added a perfect touch to the meal.

Downsides can't really blame this one restaurant for the high prices (that's just Sweden) £25 for a single main dish but the reward for the price was well worth it.

If you are loking for a Swedish experience this restaurat is perfect; also famous people such as Luciano Pavarotti went there. You can experience rendeer meat and delicious Swedish typical meatballs served with an attentive service in a warm atmosphere.

We had an excellent chanterelle soup. The char and flounder were also excellent. Prices a little high for services rendered.
