Wirströms is, despite its very Swedish name, an Irish pub that actually has an Irish owner. It's located in a historic building in Stockholm's beautiful old town that was previously a well-known bakery under the Wirströms name, which the owner decided to keep in a nod to history. The fantastic stone walled vaults that make up the cellar/basement floor are a wonderful maze of different rooms, they often host live music (especially blues). The bar has a truly massive selection of beer (you will have to travel far to see a greater number of different beer pumps) and a magnificent selection of whiskeys from Ireland, Scotland and further afield (including quite a number from Japan). Staff are welcoming. There is good pub food, their French fries and aioli are always a winner – as are the fish and chips.
I go to Wirströms regularly, I'm never disappointed. In a city with many bars, this is a true "pub".
