We read about this place in our city guide but it wasn't until meeting some locals who agreed we should give it a shot did we decide to go there. It was a Saturday night and we didn't have to book for 2 people, we arrived about 10pm and were seated immediately.
Our waitress was helpful in advising us what to have.
I had Gubbrora to start which I was advised to take a shot of Schnapps, wow what a dish! Anchovies, Roe, Dill on top of a bread served with a cold egg yolk! Very fresh indeed.
Meatballs for main course, such a big portion and delicious, served with mash, gravy and berries.
My partner had the Reindeer which was beautiful, very tender and sweet.
If visiting the city please give this place a shot, very traditional but it had a certain class and timelessness about it.
The bar attached to the restaurant is also worth a visit for a nightcap.

We wanted to have a traditional dinner for our last night in Stockholm and Pelikan fit the bill (plus they were one of few places open on Good Friday). The restaurant was busy so we enjoyed a beer first in the bar area. The decor is excellent, very early 20th century vibe. The food was outstanding. I had Swedish meatballs and lingonberries while my partner had reindeer. A very enjoyable evening.

Wanting to try something Swedish, we wandered in at a lunchtime on a Saturday. It was a pleasant surprise. Tasty food. Good local brews. The house selection of herring was delicious. Not too many vegetarian options, but the gnocchi with red beets were decent. Overall Recommended.

Lovely and very typical restaurant ... Very good food and service and price according to the fresh salmon and meat.
You must try.

Ordered swedish husmanskost and of course snaps with friends on visit. I was very clear with the waiter that we wanted 4cl snaps . The food was great but when asked for the check we we're charged for 6cl. First thought it was a misstake from the waiter, but he claimed that we said 6cl with a laugh. A very unpolite waiter with no understanding what so even. Will with this warn other tourists for this. Great food but be aware of that they'll try to rip you off intentially.
