Owner description: Welcome to Swedens oldest countymuseum! Here you can see exhibitions about local history, glass and temporary exhibitions. Smålands Museum and the Swedish Glass Museum are two museums under the same roof. Welcome to visit both parts (only one entry fee). In addition to the museum there is also the house of emigration, this museum is also included in the same entrance fee.

Learn about history of the fantastic part of Sweden called Småland.I also liked information about Smålands capitial Växjö(my birthplace) did not know that it burned many times and to stop that they decided to not build houses of tree.Information is available in text, pictures, video and audio. One part has enviroments from the past in natural size. One room is sounds from before and things that helps you bring back memories from before for example the 50,60,70 and 80`s.The attic of memories is filled with different things from the past and brings back many memories,One part of museum was an exhibition of an artist called Nina Hemmingsson that made cartoons and pictures that were honest and fun.Best:Attic of memories Worst:No småland t-shirts to buy in museum shop.

This region of Sweden is famous for its glass works, mostly set up in the nineteenth century, and there is a comprehensive display of the history of glassware - elaborate cut and engraved, coloured, basic homeware, and studio glass. I disliked most of it, I have to confess - the more elaborate, the more skilful, the more I disliked it. The simpler household ware was more to my taste. But very worth seeing. There's also a fascinating glimpse into the way people lived from neolithic times to recently, including the first electric lighting system for a town. And on Sunday, it's free.

I have found it to be interesting. Kronobergs county is well known for hand made glass in Kosta which is a well known place and is just 50 km from Vaxjp town

A placed filled with detailed and interesting Swedish facts. A visit at this museum helps a visitor to this region understand the allure of Scandanavia. The museum is also well layer out. A history enthusiasts dream or for anyone wishing to learn.
