Villa Bjorkhagen

Stayed in November to attend Dreamhack Winter 2012 location is ideal of the Elmia Exhibition Center which is around a 300 meter walk from the cabins. Cabins were well heated & cosy, beds weren't the most comfortable but you can't complain for what your paying. Breakfast was a bit off perhaps due to the culture difference but all in all a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Not all staff speak English

This was the first place I booked for our Tour de Baltic Sea trip. I wanted to be sure not to waste too much money at the start of the journey and made booking to Villa Björkhagen in Jönköping. After watching the photos of the place from booking.com (http://tinyurl.com/bltwfqr) and paying 81 euros for one night (not including breakfast or bedsheets) I expected a bit more than staying in a tiny playhouse on a camping place.

Staff was not very active either. On the morning I had to stand and wait on the reception's desk about 10 minutes watching to a reflection from the glass door showing that a person working there was putting her coffee drinking ahead of my needs.

It was a quiet place to sleep, but compared to other places we saw during this trip, right value would have been around 55 euros a night.

In general the hotel room and experience in Villa Björkhagen was very good. We came quite late at night there, the reception closes at 23 o'clock. We had a room in the main building. I was very surprised that to the price (495 SEK for two people) was breakfast (basic but good) and a fast Internet connection inluded. The room was very clean and comfortable, nothing luxurious but did well for our purposes (to sleep over and continue our way). The place was quiet and peaceful although the walls are not maybe very thick so you can hear some talking from the other rooms. No fridge in the room but we did well without. We were able to park our car in front of the main building and no extra cost for that.
In general I would highly recommend for budget traveleres and for persons with cars. Also suitable for families.

Room Tip: You can ask for a quiet room. No A/C in the rooms but no problem for us as the day was not hot (+20...

Great location by the lake. We walked on the sea path all the way into Jönköping, it was lovely! We were expecting a room in the main building but got a little "stuga" (cabin) instead. Perfect because we had 2 separate small bedrooms, a sofa, a table and chairs, a 2-burner hot plate and a small fridge. Our own "patio" too. The breakfast was good, typical Swedish, with herring, boiled eggs, cold cuts, bread, musli (granola) etc. Very good value for SEK 440.

The cottages are small but big enough for a short stay in the area, the location is nice although a little bit far from the city center.

Sadly enough teh cottages are in bad shape, there is mold everywhere and some of the cottages smell verry bad. The matrasses in the beds are way past their acceptable lifetime.

But if you can live witch the above the location is good enough for a short stay..
