“Endless wait”
Reviewed May 24, 2014 via mobile

The location is the best and the food was about average but the service was not prompt, the table was not cleaned (the fact that no restaurants use table cloth in Sweden does not help) and we waited 45 mins hour to get our food when only 60% of the tables were taken.

Thank Marco R

“Very high Q/P on lunch dishes”
Reviewed April 27, 2014

Indian side is a lovely little Indian restaurant at Lilla Torg. Even on a cold, normal, spring day in April you can enjoy your dish near heaters and covered by blankets on the terrace. We were there during lunch hour so you have to order by the bar. Some tourists around us did not realize this so their meals were somewhat delayed. During lunch time you order two out of five main dishes at the incredibly low price of EUR 9. We ordered some naan bread as a side dish, a glass of wine and a beer. The very tasty tow small dishes where served with salad and rice. I have never had such lovely Indian food at a price like that before.

“You'll think it's good if you've never had a decent curry in your life. Otherwise... there's better in Malmo.”
Reviewed October 13, 2013

The other reviews here speak volumes for the service: unfriendly and slow. But aside from that... as an experienced consumer of "curry" in many countries, this place disappointed me. The starter (pakoras and vegetable samosas) lacked any excitement and indeed reminded me most of the frozen pakoras and samosas I can buy at my local store. The main dish was supposed to be "vegetable balls" but tasted more like the falafels which prevail at roadside grills in Malmo. The grills at least are a fraction of the price, and serve you before it's time for breakfast.
Finally, my usual gripe with continental curry houses. I like to eat curry with bread, not rice. Here you have no choice: you get the rice whether you want it or not. The bread costs extra and, sadly, was more of an el-cheapo chapati than a true paratha. I guess they thought I wouldn't know better...

I would be interested to know this restaurant's contribution to Malmo's CO2 emissions. I counted 16 gas burners on full blast on a windy night. Yes, people have to stay warm, but this is just crazy because when it's windy it is *impossible* (physics defeats you). Is it worth it? I would say no, because the food is average at best, the service is poor.

There is better in Malmo. Try Restaurang India near the concert house (expensive, but very good) or the cheaper, inconsistent but occasionally excellent, Niribili - both near the concert house.

“Great food, bad service!”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

If you're not in a hurry and enjoy good Indian Food, this is the place to go in Malmö. Great menu selection. The meals are well prepared and are not super pricy either, allthough it is definitely not cheap.

Unfortunately, they are under staffed and the staff they have are not very attentative. We had to wait really long to order, and rediculously long just to pay. This takes away from the whole experience.

“Favorite of mine”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

A real great small Indian restaurant located on Lilla Torg in the center of Malmö. The food has some great flavors and is served fast. The menu is expansive with something for everyone. Staff is friendly and happy to help with your selection. Great outdoor seating area during the summer.
