I was in Malmo on a beautiful day in end-June and strolled around Lilla Torg. The square was brimming with life and had an upscale feel relative to Copenhagen where I had come from. Great variety of restaurants. Elegant and beautiful people sipping coffee, beer or wine. Cosy, charming in a way that makes you want to stay. Of course I don't know how it is in the winter; I suppose it's cold but that one June evening is unforgettable for me.

In the old town of Malmo. Very chilled. Nice in the evening. Good restaurants. People strolling around the old streets.

...when you're in Malmö. Specially in summer a place of vivid life and a lot of interesting restaurants giving you a big choice of different tastes. Take a look and get inspired of this very cosy atmosphere at this place - specially at summer evenings and nights

We spent a half day in Malmo and after a brief excursion to see the Turning Torso building we really didn't venture too much further from Lilla Torg. We went on a Sunday in August so as to avoid the crowds which was a good move as the square was quite quiet. Most of the shops and cafes were however open from 12 - 4 including the high end fashion/design types. If you appreciate contemporary design, do visit the Form Design centre just off Lilla Torg. This centre celebrates the best of new Swedish designers through various exhibitions staged throughout the year. It also has a great shop packed full of fantastic products designed in Sweden as well as a lovely cafe on the ground floor.

An old town square surrounded by indoor and outdoor restaurants for just about any taste. The square is for pedestrians only.
