Very central location - attentive staff - elegant interior - right price - and the most tasty Asian food (a mix of Thai, Chinese, Mongolian) we yet have found in a larger restaurant in Malmö.
I must say I was impressed after our first visit to the Ricemarket in the city centre of Malmö, between the central railway station and the Stora Torget main square.
The simple elegance of the interior design with an open kitchen island reminded me of upmarket restaurants in Singapore. The concept of an a la carte restaurant combined with an extensive buffet and a bar area works well. The restaurant was packed when we arrived for dinner (Swedes eat rather early and practically speaking all at the same time); the staff was busy and swift and very attentive.
We loved the choices the buffet offered, and every dish was available freshly made and attractively displayed with a high quality of their produce used. Be warned: Overeating is a serious risk!
We enjoyed our visit thoroughly, will certain come back and can warmly recommend the Ricemarket which obviously is a chain of up- and coming restaurants in several Swedish towns and cities. They got it right!
